I could see that if Slot was to be let go. A very good manager and very good man manager by most accounts.
Al Hilal want Salah and the club will let him go with Semanyo lined up allegedly. Sad to see him go but time and tide etc
I have never hidden my respect for Ancelotti Think he is in the talk for the greatest ever I would much prefer Slot turned it around but I haven’t a clue whether that will happen or not last season his tweaks were almost spot on for the first 6 months But this year he looks like he has tried to stay faithful which he didn’t really do when he arrived. i don’t know I do think it would be funny if Poch came in and won something major though So if it happens Que sera lol
Saudi's desperate for Salah apparently. Probably means we can get more for him than would be expected for a 33yr old. As much as Salah has done for the club, if his sale can help fix the bigger problems, then its a no-brainier for me. He is not the future and is only likely to decline further. I'm with Shankly in regards to older players "Let them lose their legs elsewhere,"
I agree. If we can get them to pay silly money for him then perhaps we can recoup some of the silly money we paid for Isak. We need to find a way to play without him and yesterday's game provided a hint that it just might not be as difficult as it seems. Anyway, we'll know by the time Afcon is over how we're doing without him.
Not including the latest little run of games, Salah has missed 14 PL games in total. Results in those 14 games W10 D3 L1. The last games he missed (AFCON January 2024) we beat Bournemouth 4-0, Chelsea 4-1 and Burnley 3-1. So we've not struggled to score without him, for those pointing to us getting more goals when he's not playing (not anyone here, just those in general speaking out now). It's not like it's something new. Like lots of stats that don't paint the full picture, you could look at those results above and say we didn't miss him then and wouldn't in the future but that would be very far from the truth.
Emery talking about Elliott and hoping to find a solution. ‘Not definitely adding permanently’ suggests they have no plans to play him anymore which automatically triggers the £35m fee. they’ve also just signed a 20 year old from Brazil, left footed right winger who will join in Jan so that pretty much sums that up. Elliott can’t play for any other club as already played for us and Villa so only options are sits in Villa reserves for rest of season or comes back and be a squad player for us.
