Thought he's done ok - one of our better players. Couple of very good balls into the area - Gyokeres should have scored from one. Madueke and Raya though the best of the bunch. If Madueke can keep improving his final action, he'll be a very good player. Gyokeres just isn't at the races. Zubimendi poor again. Once again we have no midfield out of possession. They could transport an oil tanker through the space left there. We're going to need a better 6 to win this, or any other competition. MLS looking shaky. Thought Merino has done ok (ish). Ben White again looks pretty good.
I want him more one dimensional going forward - just drive at the FB and don't worry about losing it. Thats how he should be playing. Still want to see him centrally, though. He's not one dimensional at all in reality, because he always puts in an excellent defensive shift - and the ONE time he drifted into the middle, he actually held up the ball really well. As I said, that's where I want to see him play. I think he could be deadly there.
2-0 at the beginning of the first half! Madueke heads home from a yard out. Zubimendi whips in a dangerous cross and for some reason, seems to catch everyone out. Madueke there to head home.
Martinelli did well there - beat his man (finally) and cut it back to White, who should have done far better than whatever that attempt was.
Holy ****, what a goal from Martinelli . 3-0! We've scored some absolute screamers tonight. Dayum. Every time I think he's having a terrible game, he goes and does something like that.
Jesus and Calafiori on for Gyokeres and Hincapie. Quiet night for Gyokeres, but as I said before, he's getting no service.
Gotta be honest. Brugge are very unlucky to have not scored at least once. They've had some great chances tonight. A mixture of good goalkeeping, unlucky finishing and awkward bounces have gone against them.
Jesus with another good chance. Should have scored that one, needed to open up his body more to side foot it home.
3-0. First half we were a bit shaky but we dominated in the 2nd. Thought Ben White had good performance. Madueki and Martinelli both with nice goals. Nice to see Jesus back - almost scored as well.
