please log in to view this image Wednesday 10-12-25 Well another tough test against the Foxes tonight. Bristol City need to start shooting on site as opposed trying to walk the ball into the net. i do not understand why Struber did not carry on playing Armstrong and Riss up front we looked dangerous and put the opposition on the back foot from the off. predictions- On the verge of breaking into the top-six picture in the Championship, Bristol City welcome Leicester City to Ashton Gate on Wednesday night. The Robins got a taste of their own counter-attacking medicine from Millwall on the weekend, whilst the Foxes picked up maximum points and East Midlands bragging rights. Match preview After the juxtaposition of an excellent sixth-placed finish quickly followed by playoff heartbreak last season, Bristol City are back on the promotion-chasing horse in 2025-26, however their inconsistency is preventing them from making real strides towards the Premier League. Since returning to second-tier action after the final international break of the calendar year, the Robins have alternated wins and losses across four matches, with defeat arriving at home to Millwall on Saturday, when the hosts at Ashton Gate enjoyed close to 70% possession. Aiming to avoid back-to-back defeats for the first time since November 4, Bristol City are currently occupying seventh spot in the Championship standings ahead of Wednesday's hosting of Leicester, one point behind Stoke City in sixth. Both scoring and setting up six goals in the second tier this season, Anis Mehmeti has certainly proved to be the standout star for Gerhard Struber's troops, although Albanian has only provided goal contributions in two of his last eight appearances. With the need for consistency apparent on both a team and individual level, Bristol City will be looking to improve their home form as the festive period rolls on, with the West County outfit winning just four of 10 Championship contests as Ashton Gate so far. We say: Bristol City 1-1 Leicester City More potent playing on the counter, Bristol City will be happy to concede plenty of possession to Leicester on Wednesday night. The Foxes need to take advantage of their potential dominance, with Cifuentes's side likely to be good enough for a share of the spoils. “There for the taking”: Bristol City vs Leicester City predictions The72’s writers offer their Bristol City vs Leicester City predictions ahead of their upcoming Championship clash. Bristol City host Leicester City at Ashton Gate on Wednesday night in their upcoming Championship clash. Bristol City come into the midweek fixture against Leicester City following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Millwall. The Robins have lost two out of their last three games.Gerhard Struber’s side dropped out of the play-off places at the weekend. They sit 7th in the table but are only outside the top six by a point. The Robins’ home form has been their main downfall this season, despite their strong position in the league. Struber’s men have lost four out of 10 games played at Ashton Gate this campaign, and they have struggled to make their home advantage count. Their opponents, Leicester City, ended their run of consecutive losses to pick up an impressive win last weekend. The Foxes defeated Derby County 3-1 at Pride Park and were the far better side. Marti Cifuentes’ side have been extremely inconsistent this term and are yet to play their best football. LCFC sit 14th in the table but are only three points off the play-offs. Euan Walsh “Bristol City are yet to make their home form count this term and risk dropping out of the play-off picture if things don’t improve. The Robins won more than half of their games at Ashton Gate last season, but it’s been a different story under Struber. “Leicester City have the quality to be successful under Cifuentes, but haven’t found any consistency in their results yet. The Foxes have a good opportunity to attain some good form heading into the busy period. James Ray “Bristol City have been one of several play-off hopefuls who have failed to grasp the opportunity to lock down a spot in the top six due to inconsistent form. The fight for those places is wide open, and the Robins should know this is an important game. “It will be a tricky game for Struber’s men too. Leicester City finally showed some of the quality their fans have been longing for against Derby County, so they’ll be determined to build on that with another away win here. “LCFC take a mixed away record to a ground where the hosts have found inconsistency too. It makes this a tough game to call. “This is definitely there for the taking for the Foxes. However, I feel the spoils will be shared.” Prediction: Bristol City 1-1 Leicester City I am going for a loss tonight as Bristol City look feeble in front of goal 1-3 to the foxes.
Can’t see us getting any points from this one I watched Leicester demolish Derby at the weekend and they are a quick and dangerous team I hope I’m wrong and the players really put in a shift this evening
Personally I think we’ll give them a good game. Our 2 recent defeats (Wrexham and Millwall) involved terrible officiating and a freak goal from a corner. Our performances haven’t been bad and the loss of 6 points flatters the opposition, both Wrexham and Millwall.
Win this it will be a great statement that we can beat the best in the division lose it and I don’t see any more points in December coming our way.
New **** here we go 1-0 down already and we give away silly penalty’s when we can’t score -pathetic lame ducks
Too many players not on top form, we really someone to step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck, we have been far to passive
Yep, we can’t seem to handle 3 game weeks very well. Riise, Twine, Sykes and Memheti offering zero offensively. Needs a shake up at HT. Respect to Bobby for not celebrating!
