We needed Middlesbrough type accuracy where we had three shots but scored 3 goals ! And somehow kept a clean sheet ..
Lots of shooting practice needed......... maybe they just need to give themselves a millisecond to focus
Just a note on the ref...the way he orchestrated Watford giving the ball back after Bannan had kicked it out is completely wrong....i hope he gets chucked down into tier 7 - that of course was not his only appalling error of judgement, but I dont have time to list the others by god we have had some poor officials, but last nights ref is IMHO by far the worst I have seen this season
Worse thing about results like last night is you get silly knee jerk reactions such at this . https://x.com/TonyMay1229882/status/1998523130722267464 Yes great idea - let’s drop our best player as clearly he is the problem.
Kayembe was way over the lines when the penalty was taken. I think about three defenders had also encroached, but were a good foot or so behind Kayembe. Encroachment by both teams and a missed penalty must result in a retake. Our favourite referee (2025/26 so far: P4 W0 D1 L3 and only red card of the season shown to Ambankwah) deemed that only Kayembe had transgressed. Which is clearly wrong. Why Kayembe didn't continue penalty duties is anyone's guess. On the evidence to date, if Louza wants to go to the Afcon / World Cup then he's gonna have to up his game. Considerably. If I were a manager I don't think I'd even put a cheeky bid in for him on this form.
As I posted elsewhere, this ref is a menace this season P4 W0 D1 L3 and the only red card all season he dished out to James Ambankwah. Read into that what you will.
He hasn't become liability as suggested by a supporter on another forum, but the last few games we have relied on him far too much, Watfords main man is the pundits mantra, which unfortunately has become true, I have watched all the games since Middlesbrough on the TV because my wife and I have both been too ill to go to the matches (hoping to make Stoke at home) and you see much more of the overall patterns of play and Louza has not been playing as well as in the earlier matches but we still expect him to do the work of two or three players and as Captain he is trying harder and harder to be involved in everything He may need a rest from being Captain or other players to take the workload from him and that is down to Javi to sort out
I was hoping with Georgi's return the pressure would be off him. I think the pressure of falling behind and then trying to get back in the game can take its toll too. You get the feeling that we are trying too hard in front of goal and missing great opportunities
