As Dick Plumb said, I think it's just a matter of time. Jones will want to bail out before we drop into the bottom three, to minimise this poor patch on his record. The promotion he won last season can still swing him a new gig somewhere. But if it looks like we are going straight back down potential employers may think twice.
It's also concerning the number of times Kaminski has a sit down so that NJ can reset. Last night it was early in the game meaning Plan A wasn't working.
To be honest, I don't think there was a Plan A, let alone a Plan B. That first half was appalling. We never look dangerous or capable of applying pressure for a sustained period. We do not create six-yard box chances or ping balls in from the byline. It is stodgy and turgid for the most part.
What has changed for me is that since the Swansea game, opposing teams have gone through our midfield worryingly easily.
We had no midfield last night. It was all too easy for Boro. We haven't looked comfortable since Blackburn. Very concerning.
In the wider game this behaviour is now so prevalent that I understand the authorities are looking to do something about it. Can't say I blame them. Nothing against Kaminski personally, but goalkeepers being asked by their gaffers to feign injury so the team can have an in-match pep talk is not what I would call dark arts. It's a bit silly in my view, and somewhat embarrassing. It should either be formalised (a time-out) which I would not like to see, too American. Or they'll have to bring in some daft school playground rule, like no players allowed within 20 yards of the dug-outs if play has to be stopped. Players shouldn't have to be treated like schoolboys. But in my view in-play tactical huddles and briefings are not part of Football. Especially when done by stopping the game with fake injuries.
