Yeah I noticed that, he then went mental at Manning so assume he got a shout from him that it was safe. He was facing our goal so can only assume he thought Manning would’ve been able to clear it if he left it
Really. I give up. We were dreadful under Still and rightly complained. We are now winning. Playing exhilarating football, not for 90 minutes granted, but enough to win games, and people are still complaining. Perhaps so.e of you really deserve Matin and Still if you are grumbling g tonight
Don't disagree about tonight (and not suggesting we're a one-man team) but the with/without Leo stats must be pretty striking.
The problem we had before was not scoring enough goals and that has been resolved just need to sort the defence now. I don't like the nervous feeling I get defending corners right now.
Maybe there's more to it than just: win = good; lose = bad. I've always said, I try to look for positives when we lose, and I look for negatives when we win. Seems like a fair attitude to me.
Maybe I am. It just feels some views are co.ing over a bit entitled tonight and expectation is perfection. In reality we are a work in progress and a damn exciting one
I can't blame individuals for the second half, the whole team moved into walking mode like the game was won already. Fellows took a knock at the beginning of the second half which didn't help.
On the topic of subs and I really don't like the double Oriol/Aribo sub. Both lack mobility and bringing on them on the same time when defending a lead just encourages us to sit even deeper.
Weird game that. Cruising at half time, yet just about held on. We have got to improve our 2nd half performancs, it's driving me insane how poor we are in the 2nd half of matches. On another day, that 2nd half performance would've cost us. A wins a win, but we have got to improve there. Atmosphere was ****ing terrible in the main as well. 3-0 up and it's like a ****ing library.
Yes surely we have someone in the squad who is more useful than Aribo. If it’s going to be for 5 minutes plus stoppage time it might as well be a young player? Bragg is more defensive isn’t he?
You are absolutely right there is. But you also don't go from 0 % to 100% in one jump. It is a journey. So far the journey has been really good and looks exciting. Sure there, is going to be teething problems, I can accept those, if we see continued sign of progression like scoring 3 goals for the 4th consecutive home home. Defensive robustness will follow. Tonda, first priority was probably make us a threat to the opposition. Well he has 9.5 out of 10 for me on that. The next piece of the jigsaw is how do we control the game when I want to rest my better players and stay defensively robust. To expect it all in a month seems extremely demanding and u realistic.
Was ****ing awful wasn't it. In thos 4 game winning run only Leicester was decent imo which is a real shame although not surprising in the slightest. I still hate the new layout but am so glad to be out of the northam and love my new seat.
Fraser on for Fellows only for him to start marking some giant at every corner summed up that second half for me, absolute mess. I counted four free headers and a free shot from 5 yards out in the last 15 minutes of that game, we really just stopped defending in every single way. Luckily we were Brazil in the first half. Think we are having a lovely cup of hot chocolate with a shot of baileys at half time, can't think of many other reasons we seem so consistently different in the second half (although Scienza being unable to play more than 60 mins plays a big part I wager). Re: atmosphere it was good in the first half and **** in the second, almost like what is going on on the pitch affects it.
Who is on our injury list? Is there one online anywhere? Seems like both right backs, Charles and Stewart? How long are they all supposed to be out for? And what about Matsuki? Because how bad must he be for Aribo to get on the bench ahead of him? Unless there is some quirk of his massive contract where it is better that we include him in the squad than not at all. We really need him out in January
One interesting thing to mention as well, is the captaincy 2nd half. Once Arma went off, I don't think anyone quite knew who should be captain. It was like a game of pass the armband around, and he who has it when the ref restarts the game is the captain. Arma passes it to Downes. Who points to THB. Who then gives it to Wood. Who then throws it to Manning. Like, come on lads, someone take a bit of responsibility
