The fact it is coming when we have comfortable leads isn't just a good spell from the opposition.

Tonda needs to coach them on how to control a game and retain possession rather than sit deep and cling on. We have the players to be able to keep the ball when we have a 2 goal cushion so it is bizarre we resort to last ditch defending and the odd counter attack.

 

WBA were truly stuffed at half time. Didn’t lie down and should have got at least a draw. Saints switched off again, but got away with it this time.

 

Christ SA! Not before the match has even started, there always a chance the toothless Canaries will suck seed.

 

Yeah its same as many games where intensity has just dropped by 10-15% or so. That combined with theirs increasing made it a very different game.

As well as that too though we lost all composure as soon as we scored.

Hopefully that was the warning we needed and the players will take it on board as we won't get away with it against better sides.

Very fortunate to get away with it tonight. No idea how they missed that chance at the end (and even less idea how the ball came all the way through to him).

 

**** me that was stressful. Walking back to my car so I’ll read through this later but we were dog **** second half and they deserved to equalise. Can’t act like a game is won like that when you’re playing a decent team that despite being 3-0 down were playing okay and clearly hadn’t let their heads drop. Ultimately we walk away with the 3 points but got away with one tbh, plenty to learn and improve on in second halves if we are to actually challenge for 2nd.

 

The problem with sitting deep is that you tend to concede corners and they are our achilles heel. We need to be brave enough to hold a higher defensive line as we do in the first halves of games.

It is a learning curve for Tonda but the good far outweighs the bad with what he has brought to the team so far.

 

It’s another 3 points but it’s clear we need a bit more off the bench. Hope spors has got his January window plans already as Aribo and Fraser won’t trouble teams in the last 20 minutes.

 

It's got to the point I'd rather see Downs come on, than Aribo.

 

Yeah, and we need to remember that Tonda has only been coaching this lot for a few weeks so won't have had time to improve all elements of our game.

I do hope that it is an area he focuses on soon though.

 

Surely it's not that bad?? Admittedly when Aribo came on he just ran around like a headless chicken, what about Cam Bragg instead (injured?)

 

Cmon, give the guy a bit of time. He is 7 games and won 6, when we had only won 4 games in 50. We are winning, but not perfectly yet. I have every confidence he will get there. I am finding the complaining tonight quite bizarre after another win, after the **** we had to endure for last 18 months. Surely we can all understand that we are on an upwards trajectory, but it takes a little time

Well Tonda does seem an intelligent and thoughtful man so hopefully he will sort this.

 

I'm so glad this is the first comment i've read tonight. The guy in front of me got angry with me because I kept saying the same thing.

Every game under Tonda, we switch into coasting mode. We've gotten way with it a couple of times, but we were so close tonight to being embarrased. I still love the guy, but this attitude needs to change.
