Give us a heads-up when you get back mate - their market is still open on Jan 4th, a significant birthday for my eldest, we're all going up there for a weekends birthday bash with the market being, allegedly, the centre of the attraction.
And their one way walking system was ****e. No option to browse then go back to buy your eventual choice
Not a fan of gluhvein, or glogg as it's called here, either... Take some wine, which is nice, then warm it up until it goes sickly and add nuts, raisins and cloves and serve in a plastic cup for 10 euro. No, thanks - a hideous invention that should have been turned back at the border. Bratwurst - not terrible, but just a sausage. There's a few miserable ****s on this thread.
The anecdote to Glühwein? Hot Chocolate with Bailey's. Which most Glühwein stalls sell. It's what St. Peter dishes out at The Pearly Gates.* *Only if it's mid-winter and cold, obviously.
Nah Vodka Tea is your classic alternative (I found out in a Xmas market in Krakow…I also found out how pissed me and @askewshair get on eleventy seven vodka teas!!!)
I mean, it sounds very nice. But it's not very Christmassy, is it? It's basically just breakfast when you're at your lowest ebb.
I will be drinking Bacardi 8 for my festive tipple this year. No point in warming it up or adding anything to it especially ice. Wine wise I stick to Vino Sol, got a dozen in just in case no one comes round.
