Yeah, i nearly edited to say that could be the case. The last couple of WCs, plenty of fans have had to "respect the culture" of the host countries, so I suggest the same should be said here.
Why the **** is there even a pride match ? Gone are the days when it was just about the football...and it is the worse for that !
To let the next generation know that it's perfectly normal to love whoever you want and a completely acceptable part of a modern society. It's not for you. You can just watch the football. Besides, it'll be fabulous.
The last 2 World Cups have been held in Russia and Qatar. In Qatar, same sex activity is outright illegal, and in Russia, although it wasn't strictly illegal, it was definitely not welcomed, and they had anti-"propaganda" laws, and they've turned the screw much more in recent years. I assume the pride match is an attempt for a liberal area of USA to show that football should be for ALL fans. (Ironically probably not popular in large swathes of the country)
There isn’t a Remembrance Match every year. Clubs commemorate Remembrance Day. Not surprised at one of the names liking your post as he dislikes everything that celebrates anything to do with this country.
