hey chris, s'reckon they gas are going to do us another favour. i think the gas may/will win 2-0. that may ease relegation worries. i hope matty h is playing, as nativity plays and panto action may keep him out for a couple of weeks. anyway good luck from those tinpots
Just got in from the game and after a convincing 4-1 win from the Gills, all I can say of Bristol Rovers without being disrespectful is that with the exception of a 10 minute spell in the second half, that it was one of the poorest opposition performances (imo) that I have seen at Priestfield this season. Normally I can bring something away from a game to be positive in respect of the the visitors and the only name that comes to mind is Carayol when he sliced through us on about 52 minutes. Sorry Pirates but you have big problems, I should be jubilant of the 4-1 score line but I just feel there was nothing to measure it against. Oh well I am happy 3 points whilst some lost ground around us and we are on promotion course. However, a big Christmas fixture to test us against Crawley and by the start of the new year we should know our true worth. As for Kuffour, I just hope this does not turn in to some long drawn out negotiations over fee now but whatever happens, has Buckle lost the plot?
You might be underestimating how well Gills played brb. They did well especially in the first 15 mins and Brovers were just overawed. There were no real weaknesses for Gills and Martin and Montrose were strong. Jackman was exceptional but that is beginning to be normal for him. At least we had a sponsor who watched the game and chose the right guy as MoM. Well done Southern Water I will pay my bill now. On the down side we may be three more short at Crawley. Lee's ability to get yellows is crazy and today's was so unnecessary.
I think Jackman was great today, correct to be man of the match, Nouble was also great, played like he normally does, such a great player. Overall the team was great, the goal we conceded was a shame but we did walk over Bristol Rovers.
I can't believe it has come to losing to teams like Gillingham on a weekly basis (no disrespect!) But we really should be better than this
never mind chris where on earth will you be in the league on 14.2.12 when you lot face a daunting away trip to the shrews, if it is of any comfort the pies will be hot. i do hope matty h is better and can play his full part in nativity plays and pantomimes. should be a good little earner for him. have you tried being widow twankey chris or are you more of a baron hardup. he's behind you, oh yes he is! rare seasonal banter to cheer up chris gashead.
A fine Gills performance - great to see. Though the crowd noise was a bit disappointing... to be honest I think 50% of them were only there to get their tickets for the Stoke game! At 2-1 I was worried that we would be hanging on to it for the rest of the match, but the Jackman strike was key, and from that moment we never looked back
Yeah Belfast totally agree we are a bigger team, it is the likes of Barnet and Accrington you should be worried about.
For anyone interested, I done a brief write up for the Rovers game here...http://www.gillingham.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=266148
barnet and accrington be b*ggered, it's daggers and argyle gas should be concerned about. but gas are a massive huge club with massive gates that need oiling!!
Think you could do with some better defenders, can see you have a few good ones in attack but the defence could not deal with the Gills, but saying that, we are great.
I (almost) felt sorry for Rovers' No.5 ( Bolger ) - who was sent off. He appeared to be quite useful at centre back - and did some good work after coming on as a sub. On another matter - I was disappointed when Lee committed his 'booking' foul. It was an unwise challenge in that area of the pitch - with plenty of defenders behind him. I really hope that Lee did not 'manufacture' the booking - knowing that a 2 match ban would be served before the Stoke game ! - We need Lee to be available for as many games as possible most especially for the league.
