It's that situation where as a short term option yes but I'd have questions over the long term. Right now we need someone to get the passion back in the players and Alonso isn't happening so I'd be cautiously optimistic.

I get that. If we were doing well he'd not be high on the list but we need a half season out of someone too get top 4.

    The West Ham goalkeeper?

Think he fancies a few more years of playing before management

I don't see how anyone can honestly think Gerrard is a good option. There are plenty of capable stop gap managers with years of Premier League experience who would relish stepping in at Liverpool. Bruce, Pardew, Pullis, Mark Hughes or Allardyce are all seasoned campaigners at this level.

I'd love it if there was a plan and a proper replacement but I kinda doubt it. Slot was 2nd choice so who else is there?

I know you are on the wind up.

Gerrard had the Villa team in relegation zone then Unai Emery turned up and they got CL same season

Gerrard only needs half a season to get you relegated

    you pissed Luvvy?

You are correct that my suggestions were very much tongue-in-cheek but I do honestly think Gerrard would be a stupid appointment. There's not that many good options around at the moment I could suggest who are available to just jump straight in but there's got to be better than him.

No but sometimes you need a short term reaction and then go from there.

I don’t want Gerrard anywhere near this club in any form of coaching position. He is that bad

I think the wheels have been in motion for that since he signed the contract, especially from the clubs side. No way we sanction such big wages for a 30+ player unless we budget it for just a year.
