Sadly this kind of thing is happening more and more nowadays.
Hardly a weekend goes by when there isn't somebody collapsing at a football match.

What was tragic is that within 10 mins of it happening his identity was all over ITTV by the moderator then it’s deleted and then a post saying out of respect asking him not be named. Bit late for that eh?

Very sad to hear that as well.
Immediately identifying the person involved on a fans' forum is deeply inappropriate.

What is worse is that reams is now pretending he didn’t name him! He was the first one!!

Poor fella a real cafc fan used to see him a lot at away games.

Typical uncouth shelf stacker behaviour. No class.

Play fair, everyone. Reams was very quick to post the name, recognised it was inappropriate and deleted his post. He has since refused to allow the name to be posted until the club does so even though the name is across the Internet.

Aside of his quickly recognised haste he has done the right thing in my opinion.

It was a bad misjudgment, presumably his abiding desire to 'break news' getting the better of him briefly.
Unedifying for sure, and I don't know whether he offered an apology.

But I agree there's no real need to dwell on it really.
The sad and shocking loss of one of our family of Charlton fans is much more in our thoughts of course, than a momentary blunder in how that news was spread.

More sad news I've just received from a relative who was at the Valley in the covered end.
Apparently the Portsmouth fans (or some of them) reacted in a hostile way when it was announced the game would be abandoned.

I'm assuming at that time they didn't know the fan had passed away. I don't know how much later that became known to anyone.
And I know those visiting fans had travelled a long way.
But even so, didn't they know somebody was seriously ill?
Matches are not abandoned for trivial reasons.
    This saddens me deeply.
I do not like to think such a regrettable event would happen.
