Rent free. Because the auto response in these situations is to bring up somebody they think is worse to try and somehow prove that the person we are talking about isn't as bad, so therefore big win. Pound for pound, Saddam wasn't as bad as Mao, therefore Saddam fine. Literally what they sound like.
I could only stick it for 50 mins. Too much back slapping, trying to understand some has-been baller speaking Spanish, Trump being Trump, Infantino acting as if he's been sniffing the Columbian marching powder and a lot of terrible music and a rather tall old boiler with a midget for company. If this is what we can expect from World Cup 2026 it's going to be $HIT. ...
Can't remember you criticising the sinking of The General Belgrano hundreds of miles outside of the exclusion zone !
I quite agree it is a ridiculous award. As ridiculous as when Arafat got a peace award. Lots of killing going on all over, more than in the area described as Palestine. Some people never seem to mention those though. Funny how people constantly went on about Trump but not Obama and now are obsessed with Trump again. Same as in the past they only ever went on about Republicans but never mentioned the wrong doings of Democrats going back to Kennedy. Personally I would be more worried about Putin and Xi Jinping than Trump.
No I didn’t. The Argies shouldn’t have started it. I wouldn’t have objected to the sinking of the Graf Spee thousands of miles away either. Don’t recall you criticising Soviet Union and Russia shooting down civilian aircraft either.
so anyway group b seems quite a good group potential banana skin for england? scotland might not be last
Trump certainly lives rent free in some people’s heads. There are worse threats to us than him. Mao was, on the whole, a force for good. Diane Abbott said so, so it must be right.
But in a normal conversation happening in the moment, why is it necessary to hark back to every single time somebody on the other side of the political isle to the person in question did something bad? If we're criticising Trump, that's what we're doing, bringing up Obama or Clinton or Kennedy or FDR doesn't have a solitary fig to do with it. In a conversation about the failings of George HW Bush, why would I reference Martin Van Buren? Objectively speaking, and currently by every conceivable metric, Trump's the de facto worst president in the history of the USA. Who knows, he might pull it round in the next three years, but if those years are anything like the last 11 months, forget it, it's likely he won't make it to the end of his term. Even his own party are turning on him. Were blue Presidents also bad? Yes, plenty of them. Were any as bad as this? Not even close. I'm not worried about Putin or Xi at the moment, we're not closely allied with those nations and neither of those two appear to be sunsetting in real time or rage tweeting for five hours straight on social media.
The reason we are not allied with them is the reason to worry. The point is people (in general) did not bring up the failings of JFK. And overlooked that Nixon sorted out a lot of the mess started by JFK. Reagan was another who got a lot of stick in this country but sorted out a lot of problems. Carter and Clinton were pretty poor. I am old enough to remember. And remember that people in this country tend to divide down party lines in the USA though it is nothing to do with them. Think there is more reason to worry about the anti democratic way this country is heading.
And in this one post you highlight your complete bias . In your mind the only good that was ever done over the pond was by The Republicans . Which completely plays into your retaliatory responses .
Fifa didnt try and wave a shiny award in front of any of those to stop them from impulsively meddling with their global tournament. That's why he got the award, cos he wants/needs to feel special. Should he have received it? No. Are other former presidents also worthy of a meaningless platitude from a football organiser? No. Fifa should stay in their lane, but I guess they felt the tournament was in danger
Quite agree.A ridiculous award which FIFA should never have considered. Just when you thought nothing could be worse than Blatter and along comes Infantino. Did you see that clip where Infantino was talking to Rio Ferdinand?Vomit inducing. And explains some of the crap Ferdinand came out with the day before.
But then, host it somewhere else then. I really don't understand why people cow tow to this dickhead as if he's some kind of superhuman being. He's not intelligent, he's not kind or positive, he's not engaging or in any way doing good for the USA. Why don't they just tell him to **** off?
How, after Blatter, did they manage to elect someone worse? Infantino is just playing politics. He expands the competition and ends up getting more votes. The main football powerhouses are in Europe and South America but everything will be decided by the smaller and less successful nations eventually.
