Even if matazo wasnt in the squad

Could the efl really stop us registering a player we have and have been paying since jan 2025?

 

One in one out is policed by player registrations, we need to unregister a player in order to register another.

 

I'll be glad to have him back but seen some talk as if we're getting a prime Edgar Davids back.

I remember Matazo looking decent - but nothing amazing and I suppose he didn't really have a chance to get going.

Am I remembering it wrong?

The one in one out quoted in the summer was due to finances but you're also right that you have to look at the number of players registered.

 

Can't remember which game but I remember saying i think this guy is going to be my new favourite player. But again that was after seeing so little of him

 

Matazo seemed to have a nice touch but we saw nowhere near enough of him to be talking about him as one of our best players, as people sometimes do.

 

Definitely one of those "the more he doesn't play the more hyped he becomes". Same was happening with Zambrano. Both are reasonable players, both are young and inconsistent. Will have great games and go missing in others. Will be good to have him back for depth and rotation but I'm not getting carried away.

All players have great games and go missing in others , Gelhardt for instance has scored goals in games he’s done next to nothing but he gets the chance to redeem himself in a few seconds.

 

Matazo looked absolutely top class but agree we just haven’t seen enough and the injury he’s recovering from has put the brakes on many a career. At the minute we can’t consider him as anything other than a wild card because we could end up with anything from Simon Walton to Robert Koren.

 

It can be a good thing to dampen your expectations .... but Matazo is one of our best players! Some coup for us. It was clear to see even from the little we've seen of him so far, and those games were his first in this country. Just wait till he's fully up & running with us. We just have to hope that he recovers fully from the ACL injury.

How long is Matazo's contract for?

 

I really don't get the Matazo hype. He was reasonable but that was it.

 

He was no Ryan Allsopp that’s for sure, Matazo can only dream of passing as good as he could.

 

I thought Matazo looked promising but 6 appearances, 300 mins played just isn't enough to start sanctifying the bloke, let's just wait and see.
