I guess I just don't think Liverpool were that good. Salah was phenomenal but they scrapped through a LOT of games and had many a favourable VAR decision.
They werent really, they won the league with the lowest total since Leicester, everyone else just had **** seasons, we werent anywhere near, Spurs and United **** the bed completely, and Arsenal and City were in transitional seasons.
I'm not convinced by this yet. Firstly, even though we've been able to navigate through it ok, the injuries we've been getting have been alarming. I didn't think it could get worse than last season, but we've somehow managed to outdo ourselves. We need a period where we have a settled first XI, especially in the second half of the season. If we continue to pick up injuries at the rate we have been, it could derail us completely. Secondly, City haven't impressed me at all either, yet we are only 5 points in front of them - which is NOT a lot. And whilst, as I've said previously, that I didn't believe this City side is similar to their 22-23/23/24 teams, it would be foolish to dismiss them. I do think they will tighten up as the season progresses, but for as long as they have that Nordic cyborg up front, they will always be in with a chance. Obviously, I want you to be right and that we can coast through to the title with no problems . But I just don't see that happening.
