Birmingham City’s owners reveal plan for £3bn ‘sports complex’. They already have the land and the money so it might well happen. The design is quite funky as well, a non identikit 60k stadium. Whatever you think of the club, their fans, the city etc…..could be very impressive and shows what owners with ambition, vision and loadsamoney can do. It may well be the best stadium in League One when finished.
FIFA have made the controversial decision to suspend Cristiano Ronaldo's ban and allow him to play in Portugal's first two World Cup matches. One rule for him but f*ck the rest of them...
Rumours the Yanks are looking to sell, the bubble will burst eventually. Talking of bubbles West Ham got their new home thanks to a ridiculously generous deal with the GLA. Ironic the fans hate it so much and Mayor Khan would love to kick them out. Be careful what you wish for...
An England Premier League footballer was arrested yesterday at Stansted Airport over an alleged rape. He was 'discreetly pulled aside' by Border Force officers who led him away from passport control. Compare the treatment of an alleged rapist to that of Graham Linehan who's alleged crime was hurty words to a tranny on Twitter, he was greeted at Heathrow by five machine gun toting officers in a very indiscreet manner. This country has gone to the dogs...
I know we've seen it time and again but can someone explain the logic in throwing the book at Sheffield Wednesday the club rather than Dejphon Chansiri the owner? The club gets another 6 points deducted which could have relegated them if they did not already have 21 deducted. And what does he get for all his failings which cost them all 27 points? A three year ban from owning another EFL club. 3 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Then he can ruin some other club by putting together a consortium and, no doubt will be deemed a fit and proper person to own a football club again Does anybody at the EFL get punished?
For all the wealth there is in America and the lengths some people will go to to watch their team at a World Cup, surely some of these matches will have embarrassing attendances at the prices quoted with the ‘category 4’ tickets making up about 1% of the ground and right at the back away from the cameras. Do they just allow them to be empty or give tickets away last minute? How much is it all in for someone to fly from here and follow England to a hypothetical final? Flights, cheapest hotels, food and tickets must add up to over £20k.
