    Used to be a regular in the Spoons at Hatch End. A good pal of mine was one of his regular drinking buddies, I had the pleasure of his company just the once, I tend to let famous folks have their privacy unless specifically invited.
    John Junkin used to drink in one of the pubs in my part of Leafy Bucks. Always said hello and, like Barry, always had a broadsheet paper crossword on the go.
    I do not think we'll see their like again, sadly.

    Another favourite, John Junkin. Bless him, too. Wonderful. I agree re giving people their privacy, and that’s the reason I didn’t speak to Barry Cryer when I saw him on the tube once. Never mind.
    I agree, wonderful people from their era.
