Our defence are immense, and we'll still have Roefs, Hume, Mukiele, Ballard and Aldarete available during AFCON. **** all to worry about. Great performance again tonight following on from Bournemouth. Scored a good goal, almost scored a second late on and hit the woodwork twice, yet according to Curtis Jones they were unlucky. ****in do one you blind scouse twat! Well done to our lads, competed well and created just as many clear cut chances as Liverpool. I'm so proud of this team and our backroom staff, directors, tea lady.....
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cm201yvzr8vt Nice last few paragraphs on the BBC report: ... Sunderland fully deserved the point they secured at Anfield – and few could have complained had they left with victory. The superb management of Regis le Bris, matched with a summer of ambition in the transfer market, has reaped rich rewards as they stand sixth in the Premier League with 23 points. Sunderland were positive from the start, never allowing Liverpool to build any momentum as they were sound in possession and a danger throughout. Backed by their noisy fans on a freezing Merseyside night, and with 33-year-old Granit Xhaka once again showing what a masterstroke signing he has been with his experience and control in midfield, Sunderland were fearless. Even with Liverpool threatening a late rally, Sunderland held firm without alarms, with keeper Robin Roefs giving off an air of calm. If there is a disappointment, it is that Sunderland will feel they should have scored a dramatic winner deep into injury time when Isidor ran clear - but tried to round Liverpool keeper Alisson, allowing Federico Chiesa to scramble the ball off the line. This, however, was another night of real promise for Sunderland, who continue to grow as a Premier League side.
That’s what I thought, looked a tired touch but to be then you see Farke cheerleading around Elland road
cheers again RTB... good draw that one, they really thought they had 'turned the corner' and were back to winning ways, in a way it was nice to keep them grounded for a bit longer...seriously thinking that slot has nothing left to try bar luck. nice to see brobbey get a start, he was never going to get many chances but still made a pest of himself and got fouled a lot, hume made no mistake of his return to the fold and another that was unlucky with his attempts. don't think there was a big MotM shout to be honest, none played bad and all did what was needed but i am going with reinildo, some sterling defence and the odd 'winning' of a free kick and kept the play acting down, makes him a much better player. ref watch, thought he did ok, no big decisions had to be made and kept the game flowing, much better than the last two we have had.
You're an absolute star mate. When our individual traumas are over we'll have to meet up and I'll treat you to a match and a few pints.
It's appalling isn't it. Are they appealing to the foreign market and building up the top teams? Whatever the case it's sick.
What a night. Beaux Gris Gris were really good at the Cluny. Flashscore made me smile. What a team man.
Thought Sadiki did really well tonight, it's already a cliché with him but he was everywhere. Difference with him is he doesn't just run he reads the game and has quality on the ball. Hell of a well rounded player considering he's only 20.
Cheers Smug, really appreciate that. Im hoping to be fully recovered by mid March, so all being well I can get to a couple of games. (I haven't forgot what you offered to do either, blancmange or not).
Just back to the hotel…I’m confused…should be delighted by a point but somehow feel like it was an opportunity lost…simple to say that we went toe to toe with the champions but how far we have come is remarkable… Anfield was odd - think Smug mentioned it - home fans really quiet…nothing like SOL… See you at City… HTL
Just thinking about you mate, you really put some effort into this game ... ... so pleased it was all worth it
I didn't watch it on Sky, Graeme Le Saux was on comms on the stream I watched and he was very balanced and complimentary of us. Who were the Sky comms?
