Everything thats wrong with British racing on display at Haydock tomorrow... Good to Soft, Soft in places... if the meeting had been in Ireland there would be 18 in very race, instead 3,8,3,5,5,11,9....

yes , numbers , but lots of those races aren’t particularly competitive …..especially the maidens / novices , they’re often glorified schooling sessions ……but haddock tommorow is unusual , with such low numbers…..

The entire prize money for the meeting adds up to about 10K more than for the 7.10 Kempton race.

the skewed finances of racing , bit like the economy really , the group ones have massive prizes for the wealthy owners and the class 6 pleb runners scratch for fuel money …….

Yes, undoubtedly Haydock's card today has got its problems. I'm not for one second going to stand up (or even remain seated) and say its great by any means. But to accentuate the positives it should be noted that a half-brother to a Cheltenham Gold Cup winner is running at the meet and, at the time of writing, so is the current favourite for one of the races at the '26 Cheltenham Festival.

Mydaddypaddy is only favourite for the Supreme because WPM hasn't sent out a top class novice yet. How anyone could back the Skelton charge at 5/1 for the Supreme is beyond me.
