Sunderland are another type of team that will be perfect to play against our weaknesses. A much better test of whether we have turned a corner compared to a powder puff West Ham side. Mid week game at Anfield under the lights will be a big pro for us, but Sunderland will really be up for it and will fancy their chances.
Sunderland been the surprise package this year although their away form is up and down wins against Forest and Chelsea but defeats to Burnley, man united and Fulham so should be going into this game looking to win. Evening game under the lights on back of a win. Team need to step up.
Its difficult to really assess how good we were against West Ham - Wilson never really troubled VVD or Konate. The team felt a bit more balanced though. I think its safe to say that Sunderland will provide a much sterner test. In any case, Slot is likely to rotate again anyway
while WHam were toothless at no point did it look like someone could just jog straight thru midfield and onto our CB's which at least showed some lessons appear to have been learned
Key points from Arne Slot's press conference this morning: Slot says encouraging to see Florian Wirtz playing well, but it's not the first time Alexander Isak felt a little bit of cramp yesterday and will see how he does today Salah unhappy he was left out, but stayed professional Salah been outstanding for this club for so many years and will be in the future Big compliment for Régis Le Bris, "brought in a lot of new players and started so well.” Sunderland beating Chelsea and drawing against Arsenal shows you how strong they are Mo Salah will leave for AFCON on 15th December Which means he will be available for Brighton at home. Bradley and Frimpong not available for tomorrow Conor Bradley in team training for first time yesterday and hopefully back for Leeds Expects the same for Frimpong next week When asked about being one of the most abused coaches online recently: "After the City game? Maybe I expected it more after the Forest game!" Salah pretty guaranteed to start imo
Also said Isak, Wirtz and Gomez can't play 90 minutes three times in a week, so expect changes there as well.
picked the ball up wide and moved short distance before shooting . It was the constanst straight runs down the middle of the park which i found particularly concerning
On paper we should be strong for Sunderland, but, sadly it does not usually work that way.I am expecting a win anyway.
