I personally think if we stay tight and compact for the first 20 minutes and limit the Liverpool attacks whilst maybe creating a couple of chances ourselves that may well prove enough to rattle Liverpool. We have proven again and again that the first goal does not put us off in the least and that we have the grit and determination to fight back for results. Do I think we can win this game? Absolutely! Do I think we will win this game? Unsure! Do I think that Liverpool think this will be an easy fixture? Most definitely not! Will we give them a good test? Again we most definitely will! Really looking forward to this one and to see how RLB manages the tactics and the squad (2 games in a week) and to see how the players react. I am going to predict a tentative victory 1-2 as I believe that we will play with purpose and vigour and that will frustrate and surprise Liverpool in equal measure. I have just read that back and in truth can not believe what I have just written! But I do believe it.
Going for a draw here and would be happy with it but we could pull a win out the bag in the last 10 ala Chelsea. One thing I'm sure of is I'm a lot more confident than I was going into the Fulham game.
Feels very similar to man united away, we missed a golden chance and were punished, moments like that change games hopefully we get the rub of the green this time
I just hope we don't start like we did against Man U. We have to be on the front foot and in there faces. Liverpool at the moment are very fickle so getting stuck into from the off will unsettle them and the dummy will get thrown out of the pram.
You're absolutely right there mate, chances in all games are scarce. Having said that I don't think we've had any outrageous fortune in our games so far ... ... so I reckon we're due a ricochet off the back of the keeper's head in the last minute when we're level. All teams get a flukey win at some point in the season, this would be the perfect time.
O yes I remember that.. if I recall correctly it was one of their supporters who threw the beachball in the pitch.
We’ve also for the most part been pretty clinical this season, as a result we are always in games, we can 100% get something here, we can get a result against anyone, aslong as they give their all that’s all we can ask mate and I’m confident they will
how about an inflatable Christmas tree, lots of rebound angles to confuse their back line. “Jingle balls dumbfounds Liverpool in 3-1 loss to Sunderland”
I`m really excited about this game - I`ve never been to Anfield before so looking forward to seeing what the stadium is like, I just hope that our lads don`t get overawed at the start - we need to at it from the first whistle. I`m going with Yellowbelly junior (at L`pool Uni) and meeting with a L`pool supporting mate of his (and his dad) pre/post match. [Then staying up in the N. West as I`ve got a pair for City at the weekend too] When the fixtures were announced if you were told that it would be 6th vs 8th I wouldn`t have believed you and even if I did I wouldn`t have predicted us as being higher up the table... My head tells me we shouldn`t be expecting much/anything but my heart tells me we just might...the spirit of the side this season has been outstanding and I know we`ll see it again tomorrow night. Will we be good enough??? We were against Arsenal...we were against Chelsea...why not against L`pool... HTL
HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM Got to get the tactics right against these from the off. We can't afford to go two goals down like against Man United. Bournemouth was amazing and shows where we have come. But we need to be switched on against these regardless of their form. I'm asking Santa for a four match unbeaten run up to Christmas We could suddenly find ourselves sucked in to mid table. And whilst I'm thoroughly enjoying the season, I obviously want us to keep the momentum going and push on Let's get back into that top four. Cooooooomon
RLB: Character, confidence, team work the ability to connect to the crowd are key All afcon players are available for the derby, other players will have an opportunity It it a great honour to have the possibility (to play at Anfield) It is another game, a special place but our players are gaining experience, we want to be competitive We shall see Sometimes it is a question of confidence and even Liverpool can struggle We started with 12-14 starters, the dynamic is positive and the other players have shown that they can contribute They know the level and the rules and they will be ready It's probably the strongest (hardest) week of my life but I'm enjoying it, we will do our best They have many dangerous players but we will play with bravery and strong teamwork It's positive, the results are connected with the mood, we reacted well after the 2 goals, we have to give the best version of ourselves In 3-5 weeks the dynamic may be different, we need to keep working hard. Brobbey needed time to connect with the squad, he is improving a lot, it's great news for us, Eli is not far away either. We don't focus too much on the opponent It's really exciting for the players to face these 2 strong teams We want to play our football, it's important to grow and learn from these games So far it is really good, you can't step back, just go again Some players are frustrated that they did not play, I will take a few minutes to take in the stadium but then it's back to work focused on the job
Anyone notice Liverpool rested Salah completely at the weekend? Obviously want him at his best for the toughest game of the season...
