Kamara isn't really a Sergej type of player though, is he? I liked him last season but I can't see how he fits in now.
Hard to know, he looked pretty direct for pompey and even for us I think of that game against Leeds where he broke the lines well. I wouldn't put it past the Jak.
Does he? I think that's a cop out. Kamara's tracking back v WBA as one example that springs to mind. Think his languid style belies the effort he puts in.
Interesting watching the replay again. As called earlier, Coyle plays him on, so making up for his mistake. But hadn't noticed before, Ajayi just stood there with his hand raised! Had he tracked back there'd have been no tackle to make! Some tackle still though. Amazed Egan didn't get more MoM votes. I like Ajayi, and haven't been a big fan of Egan's, but Egan had the better game imo. Held them together 1st half when we were getting battered, then was a rock 2nd half.
I had him 4th I just think the way Ajayi defends in an aggressive way kills the attack. There was an instance when Ajayi had 3 attempts going for the ball and it forced the Stoke player to take the ball the width of the pitch before playing it to a full back. In previous weeks. That player would have been allowed to take it towards our goal and pick a pass. Egan was immense in Saturday though. Reads the game so well.
He’s had lapses in concentration but he showed time and time again that he puts the effort in. Remember that one time he sprinted from attacking the right wing all the way across the pitch to making a slide tackle in the left back position?
Fancy getting the train back from a game and the MotM gets on the train with you. please log in to view this image
What that clip shows is that Famewo is no fullback. Not sure why Giles was brought off but that ball inside was waaaay too easy.
Giles gets beat in that area quite a lot also. Famewo was very solid when he came on, this is just a very good pass imo
Maybe, but there was no space for the Stoke man to shift it out wide so that was the obvious pass to make. A natural full back would know that and have his body shape sorted out, Famewo was facing the wrong way and had no idea where his man was. Just saying he's not a fullback.
when dramehs injured, we literally have no fullback cover i said before stoke game, thats a concern williams is seemingly never going to be ready
i highly doubt he will be coming back in jan unless we have an injury crisis and i hope we dont have another injury crisis but bordelas wouldnt be bringing kamara on at all if he wasnt a 'grafter' so thats not any sort of problem
