I don’t think anyone can claim they aren’t real fans. The difference with Arteta’s earlier struggles was that as a former star player for Arsenal, he had a strong bond with the club and had a good level of goodwill which gave him the time to establish himself. Frank doesn’t have that and now we have Lewis’s kids running the club, there is some uncertainty on how they will react. January’s transfer window might give us a clue on their stance.
Less the booing, more the ironic cheering when Vicario completed a pass for the 10-15 minutes afterwards Calling out general knobheadedness of the fanbase is needed sometimes
The bond with the club should not be a factor, IMO. A club like Spurs should be focused on WHY they have had limited success - shocking really for such a big club. No one has a bond with the club until they do. Everyone has to start somewhere. You've had 15 managers in the last 20 years! Ridiculous. Tells me the problem is the fans - and I am aware that at Arsenal we also have some of the same types that **** on everything we do unless it's winning a trophy. Just seems more the mainstream at Spurs.
Because he is supposed to be a better coach? How much worse is the team? We have lost Sonny a player that you was quite critical of last year for being passed his best? Still a very good player who has not been replaced. Maddison, Solanke and Kulu are injured. Kulu is a big miss, many here don't rate Madders or Solanke that highly, but I accept that all 3 get in our best XI though I am not sure how Madders, Kulu and Kudus fit in the team together, so maybe just Solanke and Kulu, and once Kolo Muani has adjusted to the league I am not sure Solanke gets in either.
Just a complete horror show at the moment in every element, poor performances, poor attendances, poor atmosphere. it took them 6 minutes to completely unravel any positivity we took out of the PSG game! I was down the other end so didn’t really notice the Vicario booing at the time. Don’t agree with booing our own players in game but we’ve won 3 games at home in 11 months, at some point people are going to break. As to the solution, can Paratici pull out another couple of kulusevskis and pre-injuries Bentancur in January? Expect our usual drubbing at St James’s and then if we don’t beat Brentford, I can’t see where our next win is coming from.
The fact Frank is the third manager to break their own system to play on the front foot, after Villas-Boas and Nuno both bowed to pressure and promptly saw our goal difference take a kicking and their prospects of remaining employed stop dead, points more than one finger at the fanbase, especially considering how fractured the squad already looks compared to three months ago The difference is that with Villas-Boas and Nuno it did feel like some pressure was coming from above to get costly assets like Lamela or Ndombele back in the team. With Frank it isn't that, considering the pressure is to get players like Bergvall in the side who cost a fraction of what we paid for Richarlison, Solanke, Maddison, Romero etc etc
If you look at 15 managers in 20 years and think the problem is the fans and not Daniel Levy, you need to give your head a wobble.
You've answered your own question. Currently on paper assuming everyone is fit, I'd say our best XI is either: Vicario Porro Romero VDV Udogie Palhinha Bergvall Kulusevski Maddison RKM Solanke Or Vicario Porro Romero VDV Udogie Bergvall Palhinha Maddison Kudus Solanke RKM Yes, I was very critical of Son last season, but never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd repeat the same mistake of Kane's departure and not actually replace him. The current options out there are worse than an ageing Sonny.
3 home wins this year, that`s around £700 per win for the higher priced season ticket holders, the fans have every right to boo. Levy may be gone (thank god) but we are still reaping the results of decades under his miserable tenure, it remains to be seen if ENIC are intent on having an imperative complete change of approach to sporting success (I know where my money is), I suspect this club will continue to fail until new owners arrive who make every decision a football one rather than a business one.
Happy birthday!! 36? I'm sure I have t shirts as old as you... Amway before the Christmas lights and football starts I went out for breakfast and it has cheered me up no end.
