Really not sure where we go from here. Embarrassment against Arsenal, a battling if ultimately losing trip to Paris, then this....
Truly shocking stuff. You can’t play for 15 minutes a game and expect a result. There’s simply too many mental passengers in this team. VdV, Bergvall, Kudus, RKM, those are the players who actually give what you need. But it has to happen over 90 mins. You can’t sit there for an hour 2-0 down at home and play like that. If Frank can’t instill that mentality then he shouldn’t be managing anything.
I’ve got no defence, nothing to support any of them. I’ve spent nearly £200 that I can barely afford on tickets seeing us lose in the league. I don’t know what to do, this is all bulldhit.
Spurs were very poor in the first half. They are a young side and they panicked. Better in the second but still up against refereeing that has decided to let aggressive heavy tackles go. I don't think it's a coincidence that teams like Liverpool and Spurs have struggled this season. We need to reinforce this team with some midfield muscle and experience.
There’s more to football than ‘wanting it’ but sometimes it’s as simple as that. I don’t think Frank has the ability as a manager of a group to embed the mentality of needing to win every duel, every moment on the pitch, every game. His tactics aren’t working and he can’t motivate the group. I just don’t think his position is tenable. I want it to work for him but just don’t think it will.
The problem is that our players don't want it, and "it" in this context is the ball So many examples of having to take extra touches or take far too long on throw-ins because nobody was showing up for the ball Hardly new, either, this was an issue four years ago with an entirely different set of players
