A hell of a lot better in the second half. Deserved to get something out of this game. Had a go in the second half and that is all we want the team to do against these teams
So the only 3 changes from our Championship team were Justin, who is backup, Nmecha, who was free and Perri who, according to what I've read, is as bad as Meslier. Where did all the fkn money go because that seems to be a better performance than the last few games?
Playing 5 at the back at home against Chelsea could be interesting.... It actually worked for us - BUT only because Farke had no choice
It’s the hope that kills I get everyone is frustrated and emotional, this was a few minutes from being a potential season turn around game. But really. Apart from arsenal and Brighton we’d been in every game, there was no need to go 3 at the back previously. First half was one way traffic so he changed it. Just like everyone says he can’t and never does. He didn’t make negative substitutions in the second half… people think he tells them to sit back? One of the PL’s best sides at home were always going to come back at us to get the win after we equalised - just as we came back at them after they’d regained the lead.
Take it you weren't watching then and just made this up to suit your agenda. We put them under a lot of pressure after equalizing for a period, then they had a little period of pressure. You expect man city won't have a period of pressure in the last few mins when drawing at home to a newly promoted team? And Farke hardly shut up shop with his late subs. He brought on Okafor and Aronsson. unfortunately their attacking players are a little better than ours.
why did he have no choice? We were getting battered and he made some changes. Arsenal apart, maybe, that hadn’t happened before. Different circumstances, different action
I have to agree. Why change what was working and had them rattled. Seems clear to me we’re more effective pressing higher up the pitch than trying a low block to see the game out. How many late goals do we need to let in before the penny drops with DF.
Just don't lose at home. Their local rivals next to visit, can't see them losing that. We'll have to be first to beat them!
I have a few questions, On the BBC site DCL was given MOM. Is that right? How was our MF with the old Championship players? Did we look more solid with 3 at the back? I read that Perri made several important saves but on here he got slated, what is the truth?
Your generosity knows no boundaries, that is so kind of you thank you. Would you mind if I said I’ll politely decline that generous offer and repeat, all of it. You can give an answer tomorrow if you like, I’m off to look after the grand kids now, enjoy your evening
Don't think it was necessarily going 3 at the back that changed things although it helped. The fact we utilised our big ****ers and played long and made it a battle helped.
By half time I knew we were going to get battered and knew I would have that usual Sunday sick feeling every time I think of the match. Surprise 1 I was surprised DF changed tactics, shape and personell. Surprise 2 DCL made a mess and City handed it back to him and he scored. Surprise 3 we were now controlling things and had renewed energy levels. 3 at the back seemed an obvious move for many many Leeds fans due to the signings we made and it was working. Surprise 4 we now have 2 strikers up top and causing mayhem against a team who may well win the league again. Gone are the Farkeball wingers and replaced by determined midfielders and a couple of battering rams. Yes we got beat but this will be the first time after a defeat I don’t feel sick, I’m chuffed
Hopefully DF took note of how early substitutions can potentially help our cause, for the remainder of the season. Thought 3 at the back worked well today, also liked the forward momentum it helped provide. Whether that system is suitable long term is open to question. Whether these pointers will influence team tactics and in game changes in future fixtures remain to be seen, but thought they worked well in a much improved 2nd half. I didn’t think we sat back after the equaliser, thought we continued to press. We were just undone because of City’s superior ability
