Mbick scored for Colchester, Kanu scored again for Walsall. A Mitchell had a good game for Plymouth.

I assume we can recall these players in January?
Question is - will any of them be of much use at the business end of a Championship season?

You just get a feeling that if they came back they would be ****e ….like the others!
Be nice when Godden is back to see if he can cut the mustard. Currently we’ll be relying on him to hit the ground running which would be hugely unfair given how long he’s been sidelined.

One of the more laughable takes on Saturday’s hammering is that two raw kids - Kanu & Mbick, could somehow miraculously step up two levels of football & help boost our flagging front time.

Kanu struggled big time in L1 last season when he played, and with all due respect to Mbick his 20 min cameo at Wembley was horrible. Neither are ready / good enough yet.

There’s a world of difference between scoring against Barrow and leading the line at Coventry City away.

So returning loanees are not the answer.
To be honest I don't think Matt Godden is going to be the answer either.
And relying on other players gradually returning from injuries and regaining sharpness & form is a pretty thin hope.

That leaves the January transfer window. A seller's market.
Will our owners agree to the Club making a guaranteed thumping great loss this season in order to have a better chance - but no guarantee - of staying in the Championship?

Not getting carried away with Saturdays result , we’ve got a weakened squad and Southampton , after a spluttering start in the championship, have started to put some results together - they looked the best footballing side we’ve seen at the Valley this season so far. If anything I’ll put it down to NJ for team selection and not changing things when it started to go tits up

I don’t think Godden will be the answer either. He’ll score a few for sure maybe nicking us a few extra points here and there but I definitely think our defence is our only hope of staying up. We can work on getting the required strikers in the summer.
First and foremost we need that defence back to its full strength asap.

Is a fully fit and firing Godden better than any other Charlton striker on our books, yes he is. But it will take a long time before he is fully fit and firing. But I would have Godden over anyone else we have.

He’s head & shoulders our best striker.

We need to strengthen in Jan.

    NJ clearly doesn’t rate Olaofe.

Mbick has scored for Colly Utd.

    Bring him back, I say!

    Kanu scored also.

I’ve bet each way to be top scorer at 50-1. He’s going good
