We missed Cunha more than i thought we would/should. In fairness we did make Pickford work a fair bit but as happens too often we spend too much time passing to each other out wide giving the defence time to set for a cross.
Well no, I didn't dream that. What a weird performance. ****e all round. I suppose at least it proves Zirkzee is never a centre forward. But sticking with the five against ten men when we needed goals ffs.
We desperately missed Cunha. Not only does he actually go forward, he's got the right mentality. Hopefully Zirkzee's last ever game for us, he should leave in January. But then, why play him and leave Mount on the bench when he hasn't started all season? Then we have Mbuemo and Amad ending on the same side of the pitch, which meant there was absolutely **** all threat whatsoever down our left side. Couple of things last night rang alarm bells. How can they possibly lose that game when winning it puts us right in the mix?
Strange game all round, apart from Amad, none of our players seemed up for it and were a yard off the pace all across the pitch. Don't know if it was down to international games or what but we seemed sluggish and never took control of the game after the sending off. Zirkzee is a waste of space and there were options on the bench so the manager is at fault for playing people out of position and not making decent substitutions.
It so scary that we played for almost 80 minutes at home with one man up and still didn’t score a goal. Forget missing one player, the under 23 team would have scored a goal.
We were actually missing two, Sesko wasn't playing either. The one who replaced them, Zirkzee, is nothing more than a pub level player. He may as well have been playing with a balloon for all the control he ever had.
