    Venue - The Hawthorns
    Date - 29 November 2025
    Kick off - 3pm

Following their disappointing 1-2 home defeat at the hands of Derby County, next up for Vitor Matos’ rapidly sinking Swans is a tricky looking visit to West Brom.

On Tuesday evening, Vitor Matos' reign began with defeat as Derby claimed a sixth win in seven games to continue their surge towards the Championship play-off places.

Joe Ward and Lars-Jorgen Salvesen struck either side of half-time as Derby produced the ideal response to their weekend loss to Watford.

The Swans gave themselves hope of avoiding defeat when Ethan Galbraith drilled home in the 90th minute, but it was too little, too late as Derby deservedly held on to claim all three points.

John Eustace's side move up to seventh - and outside the top six on goal difference alone - thanks to a spectacular upturn in form since their poor start to the season.

John Eustace's side move up to seventh - and outside the top six on goal difference alone - thanks to a spectacular upturn in form since their poor start to the season.

But the outlook is much gloomier for the Swans, with head coach Matos unable to make an immediate impact having been named as successor to Alan Sheehan on the eve of the game.

Matos' new team are 19th in the table having suffered four successive defeats and won only two of their past 13 league matches.

The following evening, Marvin Ducksch scored a late equaliser for Birmingham City in a pulsating Hawthorns derby against West Bromwich Albion.

Alex Mowatt grabbed his first Championship goal of the season to give the Baggies a well-deserved lead during a dominant opening-half performance.

The visitors rallied during a thrilling second half, with German striker Ducksch grabbing his third goal in two games with a brilliant header.

Both sides had chances to win as the game became more stretched during the final throes but each had to settle for a point, which leaves Birmingham in ninth spot and West Brom 17th.

The Swans have played the Baggies on 53 previous occasions, winning 23, losing 19 with 11 draws.

In last season’s corresponding match, the Baggies ran out 1-0 winners:

Turning to tomorrow, it will be interesting to see not only Matos’ team selection but also whether or not he has made any changes in style and in team structure.

Still early days in Matos’ reign, but I will be pleasantly surprised if the Swans return home from the Midlands with any points.

3-1 to the Baggies: hope I’m wrong <cheers>

Sam Parker is not in the U21 squad for tonight’s match against Forest at Loughborough. (Bobby Wales is in the squad)

    Sam instead of Key tomorrow?

Thanks Taff. To be honest I haven't a clue as to who he will.pick and how they will.play. I will be delighted with a point but I fear dismal weekend with the Boks hammering Wales and the Swans getting nothing. I will be encouraged if we see a team playing with more confidence and control as opposed to that awful display on Tuesday.

We could be in the relegation zone tomorrow afternoon. 1 point above it at the moment.

Need Vipi to be back on form. His form disguised the poor team performance early on. We have some talented players who create so few chances. Came away from the Southampton game feeling relegation was a real threat. No chances created and we let them have 26 chances or so. Had already booked Charlton ticket so endured another poor show, but they did step up for a good period of that game and were unlucky not to pinch it. So we have it in us to step up just don’t know why they don’t.

Swansea City boss Vitor Matos makes three changes to his line-up for this afternoon’s Championship clash with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Marko Stamenic, Goncalo Franco and Zeidane Inoussa are all named in the starting XI, as Jay Fulton, Liam Cullen and Ronald drop to the bench.

The Swans are otherwise unchanged from the midweek meeting with Derby County, with Lawrence Vigouroux continuing in goal.

Josh Key, captain Ben Cabango, Cameron Burgess and Josh Tymon make up the back four.

Stamenic and Franco join Ethan Galbraith in the middle of the park with Inoussa and Jisung Eom on the flanks.

Zan Vipotnik leads the line for the visitors.

Swansea City: Lawrence Vigouroux; Josh Key, Ben Cabango (captain), Cameron Burgess, Josh Tymon; Marko Stamenic, Goncalo Franco, Ethan Galbraith; Jisung Eom, Zeidane Inoussa, Zan Vipotnik.

Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Jay Fulton, Melker Widell, Ishe Samuels-Smith, Liam Cullen, Ricardo Santos, Kaelan Casey, Adam Idah, Ronald.
