That was posted over two months ago, in September. Reported today that Glasgow Rangers's Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell has been sacked, along with the CEO. Another case of new American owners weighing up the "professionals" in post at the club, and deciding performance isn't matching expectation. Attanasio has taken his time, but Manning's departure clearly served to bring matters to a head at Carrow Road. Clement's arrival and a coaching reshuffle will definitely not be the end of it.

Clement has outlined his priorities for the transfer window:

"We've already been talking this week about ideas that we can have for the future with some players who can be interesting for the future for the club, and the recruitment team will look at them. It's about working together. Everybody only wants one thing and that is a better result with Norwich. It's not about themselves, it's about teamwork."

A creative midfielder to replace Núñez and at least one wide attacking player would be my priorities.

I think Knapper let slip thy they would be looking to recruit wingers. Personally I think we could need 2 as a minimum.
Crnac is out for the season
Jurasek seems unable to get in the pitch and make an impact.
Myles has barely featured for the first team.
    Schlupp is constantly injured.
Makama and Schwartau aren’t natural wingers

Diallo could be back in January though.

Arguably we need 1 in for each side, possibly 2 for the right?

In terms of creative midfielders, we might have that in Wright, Forson, Slimane and Forsyth. If we become more structured under Clement there may be less need for a creative player.

Who those players could be though is most intriguing? If we were trying to covering all bases then we would want pacy creative wingers with strong leadership and British based - I can’t see there being many of those players available in a January market

Nathan Redmond is currently a free agent and only 30.

EDIT: maybe not just checked his stats and he’s been plagued with injuries over the last 2 years - the last thing we need

I can't disagree that we need players but how many more can we afford to put on the payroll?

Another important factor. We have to find a way to jettison Duffy? Maybe try and get Jurasek a loan somewhere to build some fitness and confidence

West Ham rumoured to be interested in Sargent. With his lack of goals in the last 13 matches, I am surprised WHU are looking at him.

    This from the Pinkun:

"Those behind the scenes at the Avant Training Centre expect a winger to be among his (Knapper's) priorities when the winter window opens in the new year. Norwich owner Mark Attanasio has been open about the availability of funds in the transfer market, telling BBC Radio Norfolk: "We have a transfer window where we can take stock of where we are and make some moves to try and avoid relegation." Plans are currently for that to include a small number of targeted signings, with Marcelino Nunez's £7.5million sale to Ipswich in August meaning a circa-£5million profit in the last transfer window."

If we are looking at wide area players, this would suggest that both Diallo and Jurasek are being sidelined. Diallo is injured but should be back in the New Year? while Jurasek is possibly going out on loan?

I don’t think it’s a case for replacing Diallo, more than need to make sure we have cover, which we don’t currently. We have lost Crnac for the season, so probably a player that can come in to replace him. Makama is a makeshift winger and I don’t think many would have expected him to have got the game time that he has were it not for the injuries.

I don't think "makeshift winger" is accurate. Although he more often played CF last season at Lincoln, he was most successful when played as a right winger encouraged to come infield when the opportunity arose. He scored most of his goals from that position. While his size and strength make him an obvious choice as a centrally-positioned target man -- which explains why he most often started at CF in League 1 -- he is clearly very capable when deployed in that wide right position. I'd say "makeshift" does him an injustice (much more appropriate in the case of e.g. Schwartau, I'd say).

I agree. There's a big difference between a winger whose primary role is crossing the ball and an 'inverted winger' who cuts in as the FB/WB overlaps. The latter is usually left footed if on the right flank or right footed if playing on the left (Schwartau). Makama is an exception in that he's right footed and can cross as well as cut in, making it doubly difficult for the opposing FB.
