The 32-year-old left-sided defender arrives with a wealth of experience having made almost 400 career appearances, 20 of which have come in the Champions League and the Europa League. Seven starts for Union Berlin last season. No Club games since April.
I'm afraid it does smack of desperation. We'd all like this guy to be a revelation, but the odds are stacked against it. I very much doubt that he is in any state to even grace the bench. But as it's a short term loan he won't have long to prove me wrong.
