Posted this earlier in the thread, some of their dirty tricks.

Ticket master have and use all sorts of dirty tricks. My daughter paid for some tickets at a UK gig with an overseas credit card, but when they were required to repay some money they could only pay into a UK account.
Ended up with two seats too many for the concert and could only sell them through ticket masters own system at face value. They claimed to have sold one of the two and returned the money, but the concert was a sell out and I get the feeling they bought the one ticket themselves then sold the two together at a higher price.

Saw Stone Foundation at Brudenell in Leeds last night. Superb gig from a properly funky British soul band. The legendary Mick Talbot (Style Council) was on keyboard.
I know @Sir Cheshire Ben will appreciate this, if no one else does, but a while ago I had the chance to buy an original draft of what’s probably the most famous, and certainly the most detailed, book about the Style Council (Mr Cool’s Dream) that was sent out to the band for them to check the content before publication. Got it for Mrs Tash for our Anniversary. That was the drummer’s copy (Steve White) who is a top bloke and signed it for us.
Anyway since we see Weller a fair bit and we were going to see Dee C. Lee live anyway we decided to try and get it signed by the rest of the band. Completed the set last night when Mick Talbot signed it. We’d met him before and he’s such a lovely bloke, happy to hang around after gigs for a chat and photos etc.
    Splendid night

Went to see The Beautiful Southmartins at Cottingham Civic Hall last night. Place was packed out, and at £25 a ticket, that takes some doing.
Don't know where this tribute band originate from, Geordies maybe? but they are not a patch on Eddie Faulkener and the the local lads who make up The Beautiful Couch.
They put on a decent enough show, but too many 'wave your hands in the air' moments for me and they managed to butcher a couple of Beautiful South/Housemartins classics.
Introduced Caravan of Love as 'a Christmas song' with the lead singer stumming his guitar to it and 'Happy Hour' was all over the place.
First time they played Hull was at The Lamp and there were seven people there, then The Welly which was better attended but last night was the biggest gig they have had around here and I think they appreciated how many turned up to see them.
    I won't be rushing back.

Cottingham Civic Hall always seems pricey to me, but also seems to sell out a fair bit.
Maybe the location. I don’t know

Seen a few gigs there and they have all been well attended. Best was Simply Cash, close your eyes and you'd have thought it was Johnny Cash up there. Its a good venue, plenty of room and the bar service is good. I do think its a bit pricey though. I've paid a lot less then what I paid last night to see The Beautiful South in person.

common gripe but concert ticket pricing is crazy , tried to get same seats for squeeze at hull arena as last time on the lower tier, paid 75 quid 2 years ago , 120.00 now, i enjoyed it but not that much ...
ended up going up to level 2 for 75 quid mainly cos my dad doesnt get out much.

Joke isn't it. I can't justify it at all now, bands like The Streets and the Maccabees charging 70 quid next year.

I was half asleep buying them and then when i saw the total in basket, i thought oops ive accientally put 4 in, but no, just the 2 <laugh>
to think Paul Heaton only charged 40 quid earlier this year with support from Shed Seven and Lightning seeds, not seeing many with that value anymore.

Went to see Jason Byrne, the comedian, in Lincoln last night.

Absolutely ****ing hilarious. We go to a fair few comedy gigs, but that was different class. I was quite literally crying with laughter.
