Am off to The Undertones on Saturday @ Shepherds Bush Empire, with Mrs B and the girlfriend of our recently departed mate, whose funeral takes place today. I've got a chest infection and am banned from attending. His daughters have asked for 'no fancy dress'. They've got some hope...and nerve, too. It's how he and most of his friends live. Sure as ****, he wouldn't want anything other than full-on gigattire. The daughters and his sister have already been pressing to go through his home (owned outright by his girlfriend) to take his stuff... ...families and money are oil and water.
Sad to hear and I agree. I have some very vivid memories as a child of an aunt trying to kick my parents and us out of house her Dad was in when he died. As the elder sister she felt it was hers by right. My Dad, never a shy and retiring builder, took great delight in showing her the details of how they had bought it from my grandfather and was letting him live rent free till he died. I can still see the blazing row in the front room as he basically threw her out! Funny enough never saw or heard from her again to this day. Anyway hope you get better soon and enjoy the gig. I have Undertones on non stop repeat at work, trying to educate the kids and all that....
