Trying to see how we’ll line up. Possibly gray left back then spence right wing, richarlison left with bergvall in the 10?

It’s good to see the positive changes in midfield.

Looks like it’s 3 CB again with Gray being one of them

Best we can offer is LWB coming off the bench to score a 98th minute winner

I hope players have not been rushed back
to the starting XI too soon (had enough of that) .

That aside, expecting a loss but front up
to keep the overall GD decent.

I think it might be a 4-4-2 diamond.
Bentancur at the base, Sarr at the top, Bergvall and Gray in the middle.
Leaves Kolo Muani and Richarlison running the channels, which could work.
Quite a Brentford formation, if true.

This shouts a pretty loud acknowledgement that we've lost this game anyway, so might as well use the opportunity to experiment.

Google says 352 with Gray at CB and Porro & Spence as WBs

...which usually confirms what the formation isn't

Palhinha and Kudus on the bench. Feels like an acceptance that we’re getting beaten and so save two of our best outfield players for the weekend.

Simons still not starting also shows Frank really doesn’t rate him. Played two 10s vs Arsenal and said it was a choice between him or Odobert (<laugh>) and now can’t start even when Odobert isn’t starting, in a formation yet again playing a number 10. Utter waste of a signing already, once Kulu’s back I’d imagine there’s a good chance he could play in the 10 and if Maddison does return before the season finishes, we’ll be loaning Simons back to Leipzig in the summer.

    My thoughts exactly.
This looks more and more like a damage limitation exercise.

    Too early to judge.

Any #10 needs the players in front of them pulling defences from pillar to post to open up spaces which can then be exploited.

Even Eriksen was made to look much better than he actually was by the dynamism of the three in front of him.

Until our options in front of Simons don't consist of a flightless bird and a cul de sac addict, it isn't fair to judge him. Especially in a system in which the 10 is actually secondary in tactical importance to the other attackers.

Honestly think the setup Frank was looking for was something like a Palhinha/Gibbs-White pivot with Deki as the No10

Not a surprise his system isn't working as hoped with one player injured and another one being held hostage

Did their keeper nearly just OG it for no reason or was that just my imagination?

Bergvall with a horrible touch or he'd have been in. Shame.
