Mohamadu Kante on loan from West Ham <whistle>

Currently on loan in France. Promising 20 year old kid.

I also hear that the skipper is no longer a shoo in every week, which surprises me as he’s got better after a poor start.

He’s never going to score or create much, maybe NJ is looking for younger legs in the middle.

We were interested in him in the Summer.

I had never heard of him before yesterday, but I believe we still retain an interest.

Apparently Joel Ward has been training with us and will sign a short term

He is a good solid defender to help out with this injury crisis. Shame he is ex Palace.

Agreed, he’s a good player. Tells me we are in trouble with our defensive injuries.

Boy do we need a quality striker and a creative central midfielder in January.

Our current forwards couldn’t finish a good dinner, and as for Docherty / Coventry in the middle …they create nothing.

When was the last time we scored a fluent goal from open play ?

A new defence as well judging by the last two games. Jones stubbornness is also affecting us adversely. I really don’t think we are going to win another game this year. A relegation battle is what we have to look forward to in 2026. What does our XG say?:emoticon-0169-dance

According to the xG supremo overnight, recruiting a new CEO is the No.1 priority :emoticon-0148-yes:

I had a good laugh at that. We need better players on the pitch, we also need Jones to utilise them properly. How is a new CEO going to change that.

    He’s unreal.

On reflection, our transfer activity last Summer was very patchy. I’m as guilty as anyone of going OTT at the initial good form, but a few of them are struggling now.

Of the £13m summer signings -

    Success

    Carey & Bell (both free)

    Jury Out

Burke (sick note) & Bree (short term loan)

Crap / Duds / Underachievers / Blown Out

    Kaminski
    Costello - Rankin
    Knibbs
    Hernandez
    Kelman
    Apter
    Olaofe

I am a big believer that Apter has got something. But Jones has drained him of all confidence. Play him in his proper position.

Tanto needs a run in the starting eleven. He could be pretty decent if given a chance. I think the same could be said for Knibbs and Costello. Maybe we will never find out their true potential.

I've said it so many times, but we do not create the sort of chances Kelman or Godden could convert. We need width to ping in low crosses, and we need creativity to play teasing through balls.
