Where would you start to explain Trump. Simple answer is no there has never been a worse President of any Country let alone the US.

I don't understand why people talk of Starmer the way they do. He is boring to listen to for sure but just because he is boring doesn't mean everything he has done or tried to do makes him a weasel or even useless. The Tories were in power for 14 years and in that time did nothing to improve anything and even were the catalist for Brexit the biggest debuncle of all. Just as a reminder it's why the EU appear to pick on the UK more these days and not who is in power.

I used to hear "bring back national service" spouted quite often even when I was serving. I shudder to think of the consequences that would bring to the forces these days. Two things that make my body shudder about that. The first is that young people today would volunteer if they wanted to serve and would not be impressed by being forced to sign on. By strongly being against it they would probably kick off big time and would create mayhem. If push came to shove and they had to go forth and defend it would be a nightmare trying to keep the dicipline required to be any good at it. The second is that people in the "old days" had a much more subserviant attitude to King/Queen and Country. The powers that be were allowed to kick ass and bully in bygone days which would definately not be allowed now. The other argument is that the Sargeant Major would sort out any oaf who played hardball. No he wouldn't and anyway why should the Services have to sort out the Countries indiscipline that isn't why it's there. It was also the Tories who have run down the numbers with cuts not Labour. This increase in service personel isn't free so who is going to pay for it? I know lets take the pensioners heating allowance for a start.

There is one solution which is lets all vote Reform and get Farage in to sort out this country and then the world. I mean he would never suck up to Trump or Putin would he and no doubt every youth in the country would sign up for service immediately.

It was Dick Cheney’s invitation-only funeral yesterday. He was Republican Vice President to George W Bush and was buried with full military honours at Washington National Cemetery.

The two were considered quite right-wing in their day but the service was attended not only by Bush, who gave the eulogy, but also by former Democratic President Joe Biden as well as his VP and Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, together with every living Vice President from either party and many other prominent politicians from both sides. Al Gore, the Democrat who was narrowly and controversially defeated in the 2000 Presidential election by Bush and Cheney, was present.

There were two notable absentees - the current incumbents Trump and Vance.

Too busy to attend? No, not invited according to CNN.

Think on that. Neither the current Republican President nor his VP were invited to the funeral of George W. Bush’s VP. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were.

Volodymyr Zenlensky and Ukraine have to face up to the fact that Donald Trump will concede to Putin and Russia large chunks of Ukraine to achieve a peace plan that hands Putin a "victory" of sorts.....and in no way guarantees that Putin will be satisfied for long the outcome that it will achieve.....he will continue to press for more and more.

To say that Zelensky is between a rock and a hard place is an understatement.......Trump is willing to give away territory that is not his to give away to achieve one more step along the road to ..."his deserved Nobel peace prize"...that's his words (spoken in true modesty...<whistle>...).....the man looks after no one but himself.....in case you haven't noticed.

To cut back arms supplies to Ukraine (by the USA) is just another way of handing victory to Putin.....and Europe and the UK can do nothing to stop it......we all need to take action to boost up our own defences....that is the only argument that Putin recognises.

All the ex-Soviet countries must fear just as much as Ukraine Trump's idea of a so called peace settlement......Zelensky must make decisions that mean at present he keeps 80% of his country.....until the next time of course....or fight on with the inadequate support that Europe and the UK can give them....and of course in the long run Russia will grind on yard by yard over many dead Ukrainian and Russian bodies......talk of over a million casualties in Russia along.....Putin isn't worried about the cost....who in Russia can challenge his approach ....no one....they're in prison or have died in many mysterious ways.....and thousands and thousands of Ukrainian and Russian mothers grieve the loss of their sons.

Donald Trump ticks every box of Putins wish list....and then tells Ukraine that they are ungrateful.

Trump said Ukraine's leaders have shown "ZERO GRATITUDE" over US efforts to end the war.

Trump worried that his Nobel Peace Prize is not coming along as he hoped.

Hold on your rushing things....we have to wait another 10,000 yrs before a Chimpanzee is able to write the complete writings of Shakespeare first.

Sad to hear of the death of the actor Jack Shepherd at the age of 85....who is well known for playing Chief Superintendent Wycliffe....amongst other characters during his acting career.

Was always my favourite "Copper" and watch old episodes regularly.

I have the complete set of WJ Burley's Wycliffe books.......and regulary enjoy re-reading them every year or so.....I have managed to forget enough of each story to be able to read again without completely remembering each plot....so I still enjoy them afresh......I think there is about 14/15 books in the series......and there was 36 TV episodes made between 1993 and 1998.

He died in Hospital after a short illness with his wife and children around him (he had five).....he also played jazz music on saxophone and also on piano.....which he would at times do on the TV series.

What a joke...the budget has been released before the Chancellor has even spoken in Parliament.

In fact everyone knows accept those sitting in the commons listening to her.
