I might stretch to Camping but Abroad was a steaming turd of a film and if Convenience wasn't the final nail in the coffin it certainly chopped down the tree, planed the wood and was made to fit the corpse.

You jest, surely? Your head needs a good wobble.

Bringing in Kenneth Cope for Convenience was inspired. The ending in Brighton is a riot. The line-up is superb. It is the perfect film for when you want to celebrate being English.

We were spoiled with the heady heights reached with Cleo, Screaming etc so by the time we got into the 70's all the juice had been squeezed. Kenneth Cope was an obvious fill in for the much more talented Jim Dale who by then had hung up his Carry On gloves until the lamentable return in Columbus.

    Fantastic 4 :

Agreed. Not in the least bit fantastic.

Galactus is probably the greatest baddie in Marvel and they made him look like something out of the Power Rangers. They also took the Silver Surfer, one of the most iconic and cool superheroes, and turned him into a girl boss with tin foil tits.

Watched Amber Alert on Netflix the other night - surprisingly watchable for something obviously low budget

    Playdate (Amazon Prime Film) 2/10

Tells the story of a new Stepdad (Kevin James) and a muscled freak (Alan Ritchson, him off Reacher) coming together to avoid being shot by mysterious bad guys. Turns out the kid belonging to Ritchson isn't his but is some top secret government/army experiment.

Cue car chases, car explosions, bad guys who aim as well as Stormtroopers in Star Wars and the usual Yank pap that is just a carbon copy of the sort of nonsense that usually stars Kevin Hart and The Rock.

Why 2 points then Grove? I hear you ask. Well one star is for Isla Fisher for whom I would murder every one of you and crawl across crushed glass just to get a sniff of her knickers, the other star is for a rather interesting phenomenon. One negro. Seriously, a Hollywood action film released in 2025 and there wasn't anything darker than one of the Mummy Mafia who it turns out in real life is married to that good old cockney African film star rapper Idris Elbow. It was quite refreshing not having The Message preached for an entire movie but there was a vague whiff of homo with the stepson as he wasn't into sports but preferred dancing, I think the intimation was that he was potentially a Friend of Dorothy.

Other than that it was white people doing white people **** for an hour and a half so I thought that deserved a point for novelty.

Somewhat harsh with your review Pud and there is no need for obscenities.
