Tenerife is fine. Bit of sun and not too long a flight. Obviously not a place to soak in the culture but if you just want to get a bit of a tan and drink for a week without spending £2k a head it’ll do. Prefer the mainland myself.
Love the sun on my back and there are cultural experiences if you look. Spending a week drinking is not my thing, plenty of mancs to do that!
Going through some stuff at my mums house today Found these old photos of me lol this is in 1989 just after we’d won the league That’s me on the right with the slick parted hair lol my old school football team. I’m back row, 2nd from right. This must be 1985 ish
Looking at the school footy photo why do 2 players have different shirts? I’m pretty sure my one is similar, although we were red and white stripes. I vaguely remember it had different shirts as well. I will see if I can find it.
That teacher looks a bit suspect. Alf Inge Haaland top right. The goalkeeper looks like someone and I can’t think who.
Our GK went on to play for Leyton Orient. Couple of other lads in that pic who went on to play for Millwall and Charlton, I think only at youth level though. None of them made it at the top level.
Another GK who I played with (not in this pic) Got shot in the arse with an air rifle when we were playing against Thamesmead
Hard target to attain ... but well worth the effort ... don't be shy - life is for the living ... and the memories ...
Morning Fosse, I take it another freezing day in Blighty? I think I’ve cracked the life for living mate and didn’t need to post pics of myself on an anonymous forum to do so
The fact that you think it's a 'need' is perhaps telling - it's anonymous yes - but much more fun for getting to know some of the characters ... for me at least ... and don't think I'm alone in that ...
I don’t think it’s a need, which is why I don’t share too much about myself. The fact you think it’s necessary to share your illustrated life story says more about your needs than mine
... funny you should say that - one of my mates just shared this - we're all turning 66 - many across Oct/Nov... He's the big lad in the middle - captain and centre half - thats me on his immediate left (third from right on the bottom row) - we were 13 ish and I was one of the smallest in the year and played left wing (no change there then ) - ironically, I got my growth spurt at 15 and we've ended up virtually the same height - I might even shade it... The lad 2nd from the right on the back row went on to play basketball for England but now has Parkinsons, unfortunately... life does suck at times ... so live every day and don't get too worried by what others might think etc...
Great to see these old pics Fosse. 73 was the year I was born. It’s good that all of these old photos exist, as so much of it now days is digital and we have thousands on our phones. there’s nothing quite like going through an old photo album though and seeing all of those old memories. I’m really grateful that my parents kept all of these pictures. these ones below are of my great grandfather. A chap called Alfred Hall who was a sergeant major and then a captain in the Army. (That’s him in the middle at the back) The first pic is just before the First World War in 1914 on Salisbury common He survived that war and went on to buy and run a confectionery and tobacconist in Deptford, south London (2nd pic) which must have been in the early 1920’s
