Going to be tough tonight and at Stoke on Saturday....
Philogene and Thomas, respectively, will tear our right back, whoever that is, a new one. I'd take a point from each, right now, though I'd admit it, I am a pessimistic bar-steward.

Is anyone going into this feeling confident of a win?
I would be happy with a draw

I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t switch to a 3-4-3/5-2-3 in and out of possession respectively, with three CB’s and Giles & Drameh as wingbacks for at least the next couple of games, especially with Crooks not available tonight.

If the 1st Saturday is a 3pm or later kick off and the 2nd Saturday is a 12:30pm kick off it would be a 3 game week.

Crooks not available on the face of it is a bit of a worry as he’s the only one of our midfield that offers a bit of physical presence and bite, but he’s been pretty poor, slow, ponderous and anonymous. So it could turn out ok.

Midfield is a concern for tonight's game. Without either Crooks or Lunny we lack physicality and neither Gyabi nor Amir have overly impressed. If it's them 2 and Slater in the midfield it could be a long night

I like Amir. He’s similar to Alzate in that he can receive the ball from deep with a composure most of our other midfielders can’t. He’s also decent at winning the ball back. However, he’s a bit lightweight physically, quite slow and doesn’t seem to be able to last 90 minutes of Championship football.

The search for the ideal defensive midfielder continues.

I’ve noticed our physicality and intensity off the ball has waned as the season goes on. Crooks looks likes he’s running on fumes and we look soft again.

Agree re his skill levels, but is he (or any of tonight's likely midfielders) going to grab the game by the scruff and run the show?
