Record immigration and a stalled economy since Brexit. Some Brexit bonus legacy and people think Nigel has the answers. You have to laugh.

Appalling Becs. I have heard of targeting Care and Nursing Homes with this Union Jack business because of non English workers who work there. With my relatives I have seen their hard working and caring nature and they do the jobs many unemployed reformers won’t do.

when we moved around the referendum time we had a neighbour (he may post on here) who never hid the fact he voted brexit because of these ‘filthy foreigners’. When his wife was quite ill and he had carers of non English origin visiting his home to wipe his wife’s backside he may not have been quite vociferous.

As aside those putting up the English *** are celebrating a Turk. You have to laugh.

I keep hearing this about brexit and mass immigration, can you explain who this happened when according to the remain camp brexit was bad for the economy , surely if brexit failed the economy them immigration would fall or the remain camp was wrong and brexit has created between 500k and a million jobs a year.

Look at any indicator and since Brexit it demonstrates immigration has increased like the consensus of experts said at the time. We were told not to listen to experts though.

In fairness, the uk economy has been treading water since the world financial crash, unnecessary tory austerity and the pandemic. However, making it more difficult to trade with 500m customers on your doorstep on the lie that it would stop immigration, well you will have to ask Gove, Farage and Johnson that one since them 3 in particular told us not to listen to the said experts.

In addition, as the world gets warmer and areas around the equator will not be habitable, we are going to see more migration. Good to see climate change deniers like Trump and Farage are on the ball in helping to make these places even more inhabitable contributing to more migration. It’s almost as if Trump and Farage are funded by the fossil fuel industry. Certainly Trump seemed quite pally with the Saudis last week did he not.

EU migration has fell since Brexit leaving us more reliant on non-eu migrants. As there were no barriers to moving around the EU to live and work there was a decent sized cohort of temporary transitory workers. The non-eu migrants who now come to the UK are on longer term work permits and are more likely to apply to live here permanently. The overall number of migrants coming to the UK to work probably hasn't changed since Brexit, but those that come now are looking to make the UK their home.

I would say the economy has been shrinking since the financial crisis and the Tory incompetent, I mean austerity did not help.
Also as the world gets warmer this SMALL island off the west coast of Europe is going to get substantially smaller still yet the left wanting to flood even more people here.

If you are right the population would not change, say 500k EU nationals leave, 500k non EU arrive means no change, 500k EU leave 1m non EU arrive is + 500k on population.

    Agreed.

My garden never floods as we are at the top of a hill but it has today and 3 months of no rain earlier this year. Only a fool would deny climate change or be in the hock of the fossil industry.

There's roughly 500k less EU workers in the UK now compared to 2019. Population size will fluctuate because of a number of factors, not just immigration.

Yep climate change exists, but why will some groups not admit that population growth is a large part of the problem and that only certain Western countries should change for it.

It's not fluctuating, just going in one direction every year according to official figures.

Because we're compensating for a declining birth rate by allowing immigration. Too much immigration for my liking, but that's the reason.

We should, but successive governments have failed and just found it easier to pull the immigration lever.

I was in hospital for a week or so, before Brexit, a couple of Italian nurses were caring for me. Since Brexit the Italians and othet medical staff from Europe have left... to be replaced by mainly Asian ones.

Because we are no longer part of the EU, no European Countries need to stop illegal immigrants passing through on the way to the UK. In fact they are probably helping them to get of their country

Fa gash has therefore fuelled the rise of illegal and legal migration.

So the slogan needs to be 'stop Fa gash's boats'.
