Was never a fan of the Stone Roses particularly, but sad to hear of Mani's passing today (the bassline on Fools Gold is a classic) - by all accounts a thoroughly decent and lovely bloke. Was only on Rockonteurs podcast very recently too, and was preparing for a tour.

We're heading southwest to the lovely Georgian spa town of Bath...

What a start to a fantastic solo career with a great song that is about his departure from his band...

    An 80s classic...

    Another debut song...

Not my thing but she is very good at what she does...

Van the Man needs no introduction a great Singer/Songwriter...

This was his influential first band...

    The Adventures biggest hit...

The little Scottish town of Bellshill certainly puches above it's music weight..

Kurt Cobain said these were "the greatest band in the world" and they are certainly in my top ten...

    This is joyously happy...

    This was their biggest hit...

    Some Psyche Rock...

I love a bit of Cab Calloway, ever since I saw the Blues Brothers movie as a kid. I discovered this remix fairly recently which I think is awesome, love the contrast between the old and the new:

As a side, I am currently watching through all of Nicolas Cages movies and one of the early ones is The Cotton Club(1984) directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The film features Cab Calloway(played by Larry Marshall) and some of his songs. I enjoyed the movie, the music was great and the cast was pretty epic - Richard Gere, Nicolas Cage, Diane Lane, Gregory and Maurice Hines, Bob Hoskins, Fred Gwynne, Laurence Fishburne and Tom Waits.

Today we are going "way down south, in Birmingham, I mean south, in Alabam'"...

This her signature song that expresses her grief over the loss of Gram Parsons...

"The Voice of the Civil Rights Movement"...

These sisters should be better known, lovely harmonies...

    Some nice current Indie Folk/Country...
