Everything is smashed up. I used to always stay at this hotel and have many friends there. I walked down a few hours after the storm finished and this is what I walked into… One of the safest and strongest on the island, apparently. There’s still no power, signal, street lighting and running water is very intermittent. Diseases are now starting to spread which are killing people. One of them is leptospirosis and there’s another one coming from mosquitoes. No water can be trusted because you don’t know what’s been contaminated. Some days we used a bucket of collected rain water for a shower and some days I found a waterfall to get washed in. It’s all pot luck though, you take your chance every time. The world seems to be looking the other way at what’s unfolding. One aid truck has come since the storm and it wasn’t even enough to feed all the kids in one street. I’ve come back home yesterday, only for a quick turnaround while I grab supplies. I’ll be heading back out there in the next week.
In Australia in the 1970’s a woman was assaulted. Her assailant had broken into her house and attacked her inside of her home. The police were called and took her report, she identified a TV psychologist, Donald Thomson as her attacker. That night, the police arrested Thomson. Later he gets placed in a lineup and is identified by the victim as the man who had assaulted her. Thomson was stunned and said it couldn’t have been him as he had been live on television at the time of the assault. The policeman taking his statement scoffed at his alibi, replying "Yes, I suppose you've got Jesus Christ, and the Queen of England, too." The police knew that the victim had been assaulted. They had DNA and photo evidence, as well as her statement, plus she had categorically identified Thomson as her attacker in the lineup. It seemed like a slam dunk. But there was a wrinkle - investigators learned that the attacker had entered the woman's home at the exact same time as the show Thomson claimed to be on was airing. Only then did they realise the victim's mistake. The attacker had assaulted the woman as she was watching TV—the very program on which Thompson had appeared. It turned out she had confused memory sources. She had been watching Thomson's TV interview shortly before the attack; later, her traumatised mind merged Thomson's face (seen on TV) with the memory of the assaulter. Thomson was eventually cleared - but his case became a famous example of how convincing yet false memories can land an innocent person in jail. An eyewitness identification, even given with total confidence, may be completely wrong if memory mixes up time, place, or faces. The kicker? Thomson was on TV to discuss an area of particular expertise he had as a psychologist - specifically the unreliability of eyewitness memory. Funny , but scary especially with AI developing
Just letting off steam before I explode. Arrived at my wheelchair using sister's house exactly as planned at 8am to take her in her adapted car to a funeral and when we get back to her home again we find out she doesn't have her house keys. Then find out that key in the keysafe if for the old door lock that was changed six months ago. She also hasn’t given anyone else a spare key. The only window that is left open has riveted stays that physically restrict opening to less than the size of my dick at -40ºC So here we are sat in my sister's adapted car waiting for a locksmith to turn up. My sister is wittering away about all sorts of crap, whilst Mrs Draig is fuming and snapping at us both because she left her car keys inside my sister's house and she is going to miss her needlefelting group. So I need to ask you all; on a scale of 0 (calm) to 10 (you've just hit your thumb with a hammer), just how much fume I should inwardly apply?

All the best the lad. Obviously we can debate his footballing abilities but have it on good authority from SAFC supporters in Newbiggin by the Sea (his hometown I belive) that he used to walk around the village in his SAFC traning gear, which local mags weren’t too happy about, so good on him.
I can’t compare with the hammer / thumb. That’s my fault and I can reasonably estimate how long I will need to suffer. This is someone else’s cause , and it may go on and on - with a sister and a wife together, if you complain too much , it may be turned on uou. I would take 7 on the hammer scale and around 30-34 from Rooch’s scale as a reserve . Let us know you’re safe .
