Interesting and nice to let the guitar tell the story, will need to look into this a bit more.

So briefly looking for now, this is the song written by Cole Porter for a film in 1943?

    Much slowed down version.

saw him in iirc the early 80's (the late 70's early 80's are a bit hazy for me :bandit: ) at the unlikely surroundings of a leisure centre but was still a top night .

This second video of yours probably caught my attention even more, because I'm like wtf is she doing or playing, I was thinking has she got one of those oriental type instruments that names ellude me (thinking board like) or maybe Harp. So watched a short documentary video she'd done, and I think it's just the varying type of sounds she tries to create, percussive style might be a better phrase, not sure - bottleneck guitar?

Then came across this...no bottleneck but bashing the **** out of open strings, with a simple tune on the high E. Wouldn't want to catch her on a bad day. <laugh>

Edit: Ok you can see there's a second instrument after the first, hadn't looked that far, all making sense now. I like the third piece she does (see 6.20) 'hesitation theme and variation blues'. Revered Gary Davis?

Lucky enough to see him a couple of times in Brum and Reading festival 1980.
Supposed to have been a top bloke too.
Would have loved to have gone to Cork in the summer, Joe Bonamassa doing a few tribute gigs

She's an incredible musician and just makes a great noise. I knew you'd be interested. It's something quite original but of course taking from so many but I don't think I've seen someone take and change and add it all together like that.

This takes art and music to whole new level for me...I've so many thoughts on it...soz it's block reading underneath but that's how she posted it, but I thought it was worth digesting...

I almost always make the video before the music, but in this case I made the song first. I was sitting at dinner and was thinking about a few situations lately where instead of arguing with someone with views I did not agree with, I chose to be silent. This song is about the power of silence as a boundary. The song speaks entirely in metaphors. It takes an internal feeling, the pressure of holding back your thoughts, and turns it into a physical landscape. Instead of saying 'I'm not going to argue with you,' it says 'I bite my lip / To keep the ocean in the ship.' Usually, ships keep water out. Here, I am the ocean. You bite your lip to keep your vastness from flooding a conversation that is too small to hold it. "Taste the iron, sharp and sweet" Using the physical sensation of biting your lip as a grounding technique, a sharp reminder that you are real, distracting you from the noise around you."The Seal Upon the Door" The physical act of closing your mouth isn't submission; it’s locking the door to your inner peace. It treats silence not as an absence of words, but as a heavy, physical seal that keeps your own energy (the ocean) from spilling out into a place where it doesn't belong." I used Chat to help me with the lyrics and description for this one. I had the idea and much of how I wanted to write the lyrics but it helped me create these beautiful metaphors. The song was then made using @suno. The images were made by using the lyrics to help create the prompts.. Animated using #VEO3. The full song is over 4 mins long and is available on my Bandcamp. A very long workflow today :)

The creator: This one is quite different for me. I made these images by accident while trying to come up with some images that represent anxiety. I like the strange juxtaposition of the stark animations and the warm sound of the song. It works for some reason. I always work from feeling when I make my videos and it “felt” right.

The song is called “Beautiful, Disobedient” and it personifies anxiety and speaks to how anxiety can live within us wreaking havoc but we just learn to live with it. With all that’s going on in our country right now my anxiety is through the roof. I can’t bare the videos of the mistreatment of human beings and animals and general hate that is consuming social media. I have to stay off as much as I can, other than posting. I’m a kind person and a caring person and seeing people ruining the lives of other people with actual glee is just too much to take. The lack of empathy in so many in our country is almost unbearable. The inability to put yourself in the other person’s shoes and think “what if this was me”. I don’t know where all of this is going but I have hope that we will come through this and love and compassion will win. Maybe I’m naive, but I’d rather be hopeful.
