No, he couldn't join Stoke on loan because he'd already switched club in the transfer window. He can leave on loan in January if he really wanted to.

they paid that much because he is a beast in terms of physical attributes and he has shown ability.. he may have had a poor last season but the lad was 17!!!

with the right development he will dominate in the prem

edit* he scored 20 goals... at 17... if thats poor i want to see whats good at that age, lmao

I'd think topping the Belgian League scoring charts at the age of 16 would be a good reason for them to pay a large sum of money for him.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong because something similar happened to Everton with Wagner Love a few seasons back, he changed clubs in the summer window and then they couldn't sign him on loan in January because he'd played for both.
Anyway, we wouldn't get him; if Anelka's leaving Chelsea will want him as cover.

Back on to Maiga if you can't pass a medical that Marveaux managed then you have problems

Just saying what I remember from SkySports, because I thought that because he hasn't played for Chelsea he could leave on loan, Evidently not.

Think we will still get him. I think the club know that he has burnt all bridges with Sochaux so has no choice but to leave. Probably trying to knock a couple of million off of the asking price as Sochaux are desperate to get rid as hes probably disrupting team morale etc.

I seen on twitter he "passed with flying colours" I'll try to find it but was theday after the medical. Seems strange it would take this long to evaluate fitness levels tbh.

Just checked, it was by someone that runs nufcblog.com. Although @BPLTransferNews says R
@BPLTransferNews: Following the breakdown of Maiga move, #nufc have a shortlist of 4, Wilfried Zaha, Moussa Sow, Luuk De Jong and Olivier Giroud.

I don't know if they're any good tbh I'm not too hot on foreigners.

Wilfried Zaha plays for Palace, looked pretty good in the game against Man utd but think hes too young to make a real impact at the moment. Would prefer someone like De Jong or Giroud

Ah, the Liverpool 'he cost -£27m' logic. Just because we have a strong financial footing doesn't mean we just throw it about. It's still £8m which isn't a small sum if he's no good. It's only December, I've faith in the club to bring someone decent in if we need one, though since we tend to play with one striker I'm not hugely convinced it should be a priority over the defense and right wing.

Although the news itself is disappointing, at least the translation of the text was a 'great success'.
