Yet at the start of the season the same fans were unhappy that we were keeping clean sheets but not scoring.

Bielsa is highly thought of at the club, and rightly so, but he never changed his tactics when we were being destroyed at this level. He was sacked after alot of heavy defeats and the fans were angry. Farke is treated very differently by the fan base.

yep plan B for Bielsa was to do plan A better - behind the scenes that meant run harder in training… players were mentally and physically shagged.
Maybe Farke should get himself a bucket

The Bielsa plan B comments hide the reality that he had a small squad and 60% of his first team were out injured at one point. The injuries decimated the team and we were using players out of position, some coming back from injury and kids. Of course we were getting beat. What you are saying is that if Bielsa had a full injury free squad he would have got beaten and relegated?

Yes. He had been worked out. Not for the first time in his career either. Even Solskjaer had his number.

It’s a point of view. I incline to a different perspective - the bulk of the players weren’t good enough, bang average championship players like Ayling, alioski etc were playing way above their capabilities. It’s more that they were found out than was Bielsa. But it’s always hard to say what causes failure. (Well, since Tom Lees moved on, it is).

Bielsa was great for us for a long time but he’s never won anything at a top level so maybe ask yourselves why not

Bielsa also said the players wouldnt do another season as he run them to rhe ground

The board didn't replace them. He managed to turn water into wine and got sacked because he couldn't them turn them to champagne

    Unfair compassion IMO

If you read a Wikipedia account of his managerial career it’s true he’s not won oodles of trophies - but there are some. It’s also a feature that he takes teams that are not expected to do well and produces exceptional results for them. I think he’s got something special.

I also love his slightly neurodiverse way of responding surprisingly - he gets sent off as manager by the ref in an international game and when asked about it says he doesn’t usually comment on a ref’s performance but in this case he has to say the ref was completely right about it. Always makes me smile when I read this stuff.

Win tomorrow and we’re four points behind Liverpool
After 12 games. Wouldn’t we all have taken that before season start

Surely Liverpool won't be as **** as they are in three weeks time???

    It's the hope that kills.

They'll have sacked Slot and appointed Dyche by then. We're doomed.

I think the responses prove Emu’s point. The emotional attachment fans feel to the great man make them leap to his defence. Nothing wrong with that, but the point made was that when he was losing he didn’t try new systems - did he change to 442 or stop man marking? No he stuck to his beliefs. He said himself he knew no other way.

But people criticise Farke’s stubbornness after two consecutive away defeats.

How depleted or talented the squad was, (small squad was his choice), isn’t the point here. Point was Bielsa didn’t change things after a run of really bad defeats. OK for him, not for Farke.

Think Milky started with “starting point” and very true but same of him and a few more who start at the opposite point of view and nothing wrong with that. FARKE has won 9 games in 42 Premier League games and that scares a lot of people. He has history on falling out with players and you can say he uses the same tactics all the time but he doesn’t he has tweaked it a couple of times and he is very predictable on substitutions. Harrison to LB was genius.

I hope he can reproduce the tactics and energy of Newcastle, Wolves, Fulham etc games and we pull off a win as that solves his job security
