I’m always happy when I see our youth players start & come on at teams in the lower leagues, but when I see some players not playing or barely getting game time at teams like Beverley & Brid etc, it does make me wonder if they’ll ever make it at any decent level.
I think often that is the reason to send them out, partly to put them into a men's game environment to see how they get on, but also to put them in the shop window to advance their careers, if they are now going to make the grade with us. If they cannot get game time at that level, they are unlikely to progress with us.
