Sorry a bit slow here is that tongue in cheek Because some are panicking ? Honest answers please I don’t cope with guesses LOL
I thought about doing both. I just couldn't face hearing some southern ****s yarp on about Hal and the silence option would have be vetoed by the others. Will think again next time, cos the stuff he spews is just so ****ing stupid and **** - it puts me on the backfoot before I can even get nervy about watching City.
Was curious if there were any other teams in previous seasons who conceded as many as we have at the same stage (round 16) that were in or around the play-offs. In the 2023/2024 season, Southampton were 4th at this point with 26 goals conceded and they went up that season. In the same season, Norwich were 16th after 16 games with 32 goals conceded and I think they finished in the play-offs that season too.
I think we’ll improve again massively when McBurnie is back, not only is he a goal threat but he helps out defensively too especially at defending corners. We’ve done brilliantly to pick up so many points with the missing players so get a couple back and I still think even being defensively poor we’ll be top half, maybe even play offs.
OK unable to see the game today due to other commitments but reading the thread seems we got what we deserved, but still have players missing and this group have given it their all tbh so don't think we can be too harsh on them. As others have said we still have a large number of potential first teamers out who can and will make a huge difference. Keep the faith, gtbh if we get near or in the play offs we've done well.
The managers QPR's Julien Stephan: "It was a very good performance and a good win. I enjoyed the performance and I enjoyed the reaction after the goals we conceded. "They continued to stick to the plan and trust in themselves and it was very important for me that they turned the game two times. Mentally they were able to stay strong. "It was important to restart this season well. We had lost the last three matches at home and it was very important to break this run." Hull's Sergej Jakirovic: "We took the lead for 2-1 and something that bothered me is that we were immediately dropping down and defending deep. Why panic? Why don't we continue to play? "The momentum after 2-2 completely changed on the pitch. We did some unusual mistakes, our gaps in defence were very, very big, and after that they scored a third goal. "Why panic? I don't know. Why are we kicking the ball to the front when no-one is there? We need to be more calm on the ball, because we've shown already that we have quality. "It is frustrating for me but we don't have time to be sad. We will analyse it and try to sort it out. We have work to do."
Thought we got what we deserved today. For a short spell between our first and their equaliser we looked to be in control of the game. After their 2nd equaliser we lost it completely. Our midfield did the vanishing act we've seen before leaving the defenders with no out ball so it goes straight back to the opposition and it puts us under pressure again. They did us for pace down their right time after time and we seemed unable to do anything about it. Crooks looked a bit knackered to me and probably should have been hooked. We need Lundstram back imo. That free kick on the halfway line with 30 secs to play? Wtf were Pandur and Crooks arguing about? Whatever it was it blew the last chance we had for a point.
Love Serj, no bull crap the honest truth and he’s off to try and sort it. Imagine him with the side Rosenior had.
Interesting you say that ..... I was thinking this season will turn out to be a case of ''what might have been'......even more so than Roseniors nearly season. Every team typically has a couple of players missing. Unfortunately for us it's 5 of our best players. Had it been, and were it to be, say just a more normal 2 average players we could realistically be looking at 2nd place by now and a real shot at autos, as crazy as that is.
To be fair QPR probably deserved it, but equally when we went 2-1 up, we dropped too deep and invited them onto us, and we should have seen the game out, and at the very least come away with a point. I agree with the gaffer, we should have taken control of the game after going 2-1 up instead of handing it back to them. Slater had a good first half but faded in the 2nd, Pandur had a good game as did Giles. Good to see both Gelhardt and Destan on the scoresheet again. I can see us going with 3 centre backs on Tuesday, we certainly look more secure with Ajayi playing. Tough game Tuesday, we need to take something from the game to avoid getting into a run of defeats, which could blunt confidence. Nevertheless, 6th after 16 games, ahead of where we would have expected to be at this stage. Credit to the 1500 travelling fan, particularly with those prices.
I'm amazed I'm disappointed. Wonderful. How far we've come. Post match comments seem to express the dressing room disappointment. The league shouldn't daunt us, we can do this - injury gods being kind. We've been beat and I'm upbeat. Love it.
