Great win & that makes up for cricket earlier! Played well by made it look harder than should’ve been, badly needed win, no really leak links && Dembele played ok for a change
Well, the first half was pretty depressing and apart from a few minutes in the second, a complete contrast. Roll on Wednesday and a game we should be hoping for at least a point if not 3.
Was a weird one to be honest. It should have been 3-0 really. Both goals really shouldn't have happened if the basics were in place. And truth be told there wasn't an awful lot of exciting football. But good character from the team to bring it back. I actually feel Hull were poor today and were there for the taking in a much bigger way if we'd gotten a few more things right with tactics, subs and on field decision making.
The best we’ve played over 90 mins for me though I wasn’t at the Stoke game. Two really poor goals to concede for very different reasons but nice to see the intensity second half as soon as they’d scored rather than pissing time away and they couldn’t live with us for a good 20 minutes when we should have finished them off. Glad Kolli took his chance even if he didn’t take his chance. Probably deserves a start midweek.
I must admit I thought Hull would run away with it having given up the first goal (as usual) and with them in control of the midfield. But we came back stronger after both goals which is an excellent sign of progress. Dembele a flawed MOTM but caused them all kinds of trouble. Got to bury more of those chances though.
If Kolli had scored his late chance I reckon the result would have been more representative of the game. Overall, enjoyed it though. Lovely finish from Dunne, who was almost playing as a 10 for that brief period of play.
Odd game. We definitely deserved the win but, for me, were never really convincing. Also if everyone was available except for Walsh, as was said on Thursday, I assume that is what Stephan thinks is his best starting XI.
Yeah went down in a heap claiming a foul, been out so long, doubt he was up to the pace - good to see him back nonetheless
I think if Dembele can give us an hour playing as he did at Sheff U and today it’s hard to make a case for Saito or Smyth starting. Saito did do quite well when he came on. I can’t warm to Varane but the alternatives aren’t great so we might as well continue with ‘the project’.
I thought it was the most entertaining match in the past year. Far from perfect and lots of room for improvement of course but it was good to see us creating lots of chances for a change. I thought Burrell and Chair played well with Chair involved in all three goals. Shame I couldn't make it in the end.
Thought Chair was man of the match. involved in everything and getting back to his best. Couldn’t get his free kick over the wall though!
In fairness it was the world’s biggest wall even if the effort would have hit the world’s smallest wall. Surprised they didn’t try going a lot more direct considering some of the lumps they had.
A very entertaining game and we're all pleased with the first win since September 13th! Given that Hull started in 5th, it left me scratching my head as to why we're not up there because we matched them, and often outplayed them. Their first goal was just weird. From PU, I assumed they'd hit the side netting. Any competent goalie really out to be saving that. We did well to equalise before HT. Good old Ilias. I missed their second as I was in the loo but, watching the replay, it was a pinpoint cross and well taken header. QPR heads did not drop - maybe it was having Kevin Gallen on the pitch at HT - and a lovely looping shot from Dunne put us level again, after good work on the wing. Burrell didn't start to celebrate as he thought he was offside but the Hull right back was clearly playing him on. It shows the importance of playing to the whistle. We survived a very dangerous goal mouth scramble and Kolli had time to seal it but could not take his chance. A very exciting game with plenty of chances and a fired up home support cheering the lads on. Great to shut the Hull fans up too! This team has the ability to do well. It's down to JS to achieve that consistency which, if attained, will see us climb the table. Edit Mad league with 9 teams within 3 points of 6th.
