Pompey will be aiming to end a six-match winless win when they welcome Millwall to Fratton Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

A haul of two just two draws since Middlesbrough were seen off on the south coast means the gap to the bottom three has shrunk to four points.

Their next opponents, meanwhile, are also eager for a victory, with their past three contests seeing draws with Oxford and Preston sandwiching a heavy loss at Birmingham.

But Alex Neil's men are still sitting comfortably in sixth position and that 4-0 St Andrew's humbling is the only time they have tasted defeat on the road in the league so far.

He took charge right at the end of 2024 and guided the mid-table Lions to within two points of securing a play-off spot last term.

And their form so far this season has already got fans dreaming of top-flight football returning to The Den for the first time since 1990.

There were three meetings between the sides during the 2024/25 campaign, with Millwall triumphing by a single goal in each of them.

You have to go back to September 2002 to find the last time that Pompey beat the Londoners on the south coast, with Svetoslav Todorov scoring the only goal.

    TEAM NEWS
Pompey could welcome back the fit-again trio of Callum Lang, Nicolas Schmid and Adrian Segečić following spells on the sidelines.

But they are still missing Harvey Blair (hamstring), Jacob Farrell (groin), Connor Ogilvie (knee), Conor Shaughnessy (hamstring), Franco Umeh (hamstring) and Thomas Waddingham (thigh).

Experienced defender Jake Cooper is suspended for the visitors, who are also without Josh Coburn (quad), Lukas Jensen (Achilles), Ryan Leonard (calf), Massimo Luongo (knee), Billy Mitchell (hamstring), and Will Smallbone (hamstring).

Femi Azeez (hamstring), Steven Benda (groin), Alfie Doughty (hamstring) and Danny McNamara (knee) are all doubts following their recent returns to full training.

They've become a bit of a bogey team to us of late so it would be great to put one over on them

Pompey have made five changes to the starting line up, with fit again Nico Schmid and Adrian Segecic replacing Josef Bursik and Connor Chaplin respectively. Also in are Zak Swanson at left back in place of Jordan Williams, and surprisingly Florian Bianchini to replace Luke Le Roux(?).

Fit again Callum Lang is named on the bench. He will hopefully get some playing time in the second half.

Millwall sub as Zak Sturge is carried off on a stretcher with a head injury. Replaced by Joe Bryan. 38 minutes.

Apparently, he took the ball straight into his face, and may be badly concussed.

Half time score is 1-0 to Pompey. Superb goal from left wing back Zak Swanson, his first in the Championship. We have played well, and could have been further ahead. Would love to see Callum Lang on for the second half in place of Florian Bianchini on the right wing.

2-0 now with a goal from Adrian Segecic. His 4th goal of the season. 51st minute.

Josh Murphy plays a clever pass through for Adrian Segecic, who tries to stand the ball up towards Colby Bishop, but the ball flicks off Tristan Crama and flies into the net..
