Clubs have voted 12-7 in favour of the new PSR. I'm feeling ill so can anyone summarise the pros and cons for Newcastle?
It's the same **** redressed... Percentage based so nothing will change it's still anti competitive... Clubs can spend more than others. It allows the PL to instantly sanction clubs, so clubs can't front load money and try and tidy it up over 3 years.
Initially, more interested in which Clubs voted which way. That would potentially be a starting point as to which Clubs are likely to benefit and which are not.
So clubs can no longer sell assets like hotels and women's teams to assocuated parties for the purpose of recording revenue. So just let Chelski do it and then bolt the door behind them. Cool.
BBC: "Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) got 14 votes in favour and six against, which is the minimum number that is required to exact a rule change... But linking the wage bill to income is not attractive to clubs with less financial resources. That is why Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Leeds voted against." That's the 6 clubs who voted against it, so we must have been in favour.
But anchoring to the value of the lowest club's revenue was voted against (7 votes for vs 12 against and 1 club abstained).
They still haven’t ratified that deal so there’s going to be huge huge pressure on the PL to hit Chelsea somehow.
