So briefly looking for now, this is the song written by Cole Porter for a film in 1943? Much slowed down version.
saw him in iirc the early 80's (the late 70's early 80's are a bit hazy for me ) at the unlikely surroundings of a leisure centre but was still a top night .
This second video of yours probably caught my attention even more, because I'm like wtf is she doing or playing, I was thinking has she got one of those oriental type instruments that names ellude me (thinking board like) or maybe Harp. So watched a short documentary video she'd done, and I think it's just the varying type of sounds she tries to create, percussive style might be a better phrase, not sure - bottleneck guitar? Then came across this...no bottleneck but bashing the **** out of open strings, with a simple tune on the high E. Wouldn't want to catch her on a bad day. Edit: Ok you can see there's a second instrument after the first, hadn't looked that far, all making sense now. I like the third piece she does (see 6.20) 'hesitation theme and variation blues'. Revered Gary Davis?
Lucky enough to see him a couple of times in Brum and Reading festival 1980. Supposed to have been a top bloke too. Would have loved to have gone to Cork in the summer, Joe Bonamassa doing a few tribute gigs
She's an incredible musician and just makes a great noise. I knew you'd be interested. It's something quite original but of course taking from so many but I don't think I've seen someone take and change and add it all together like that.
